VICE PRESIDENT OF ACCOUNTING
The VP of Accounting is responsible for overseeing the operations and management of the Accounting Department, including general ledger integrity, accounts payable and receivable, fixed assets, and related accounting functions in accordance with regulatory and industry standards. The position requires a well-rounded and level-headed individual who is a team player and can maintain confidentiality and composure in a variety of situations.
Reports to: President and CEO
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and/or Finance
- Proven ability to develop sound policies, practices, and procedures, improved operating controls, productivity, and/or efficiency.
- Excellent Interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Exceptional skills in creating reports and recommendations for the Board of Directors and/or Audit Committee, as required.
- Demonstrated ability to work with detail while meeting daily, weekly and monthly deadlines.
- Excellent computer skills, including Excel, and experience working with accounting software programs.
- Ability to use analytical and independent judgment for process improvements and problem resolution.
- Attentive to detail and accuracy
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage and Oversee the Accounting Department
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Maintain and reconcile the Federal Reserve account and all other correspondent bank accounts.
- Maintain and reconcile the Holding Company Financials
- Manage Fixed Assets
- Balance the Bond Portfolio/ Enter security transactions.
- Prepare Quarterly Call Report
- Lead coordination of Internal Audits
- Work with garnishments, tax levies, DHS levies and backup withholding.
- Close out Month End and Year end Financials.
- Prepare Monthly Board reports / Quarterly Asset Liability reports.
- Other duties/special projects as assigned.
SALARY: Commensurate with experience
