Slitter Operator - 3rd Shift in Simpsonville, South Carolina at Fitesa Simpsonville Inc

The Slitter Operator Level I is responsible for supporting Slitter operations, including packaging, labeling, and unloading finished goods in accordance with customer specifications. This role works under the supervision and direction of the Team Lead or Manager to ensure accuracy, quality, and efficient production flow.

This is a 3rd shift position - 11:45 pm - 8:00 am. 3rd shift offers a $2/hr shift differential.

Key Responsibilities(What/How):

• Assist in threading up of slitter
• Perform slitter hoist inspection.
• Operation of Corematic.
• Monitor slitter.
• Operates corematic.
• Collaborate with Slitter Operator II to ensure quality of packaging and labeling for finished product.
• Loading unit rolls and removal of mandrels.
• Selecting and setting up appropriate header sizes.
• Operation of vertical wrapper and associated equipment.
• Handling and packaging of finished slit rolls (manual and/or automatic).
• Off load finished goods from the line and stage in the warehouse.
• Perform daily cleanings.
• Communicate with off-going and on-coming Slitter Operators to ensure proper hand-offs.
• Assist and help manage production down day activities.
• Operates manufacturing equipment within specified limits of the appropriate Standard Operating Conditions.
• Participate in training new team members.
• Assist other team members as needed
• All other duties assigned.

Educational Requirements and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
• At least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment

Physical Demands:

This position requires frequently lifting and/or moving up to 25 – 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The position requires frequent lifting, walks and stands for long periods of time, and performs strenuous physical labor under extreme temperatures. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. This facility is non-climate controlled.
