Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a 10-month (Mid-August to Mid-June) Graduate Assistant position that is part-time (20 hours per week), and requires enrollment in a related graduate program. It is expected that the graduate assistant will be on campus a minimum three days per week and must be available Monday, Tuesday (until 6:30pm) and Thursday.


Compensation:

Compensation includes a $10,000 stipend and up to $8,000 in tuition reimbursement.


JOB SUMMARY
The ENHANCE Program is a unit within the Center for Health and Counseling Services. The ENHANCE program provides additional support services to students who are diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). The ENHANCE Program takes a holistic approach and focuses on social, academic, organizational, and emotional growth to help students with ASD adapt and flourish in college. This position reports to the Assistant Director, ENHANCE Program.Examples of Duties

DUTIES

  • Assists the Assistant Director with various administrative components of the program such as sending emails and appointment reminders to students. Keeping meeting minutes.
  • Assists the job consultant with scheduling student appointments and may (as schedule allows) sit in on appointments to support and assist students
  • Works with students on career-related tasks (resume writing, internship or job searches) assigned by job consultant
  • Assists with creating and presenting Executive Functioning workshops to students in the program
  • Creates and oversees weekly on-campus social events for students in program
  • Assists with planning and participating in off-campus social events
  • Assists with ideas for topics in group meeting (Connections)
  • Creates outreach programs and events to educate the campus community on ASD
  • Creates advertisements and marketing for events
  • Researches Grant opportunities and funding sources
  • Researches ASD friendly companies
  • Participation in meetings and college events related to job responsibilities
  • Create and maintain Peer Mentor student schedules
  • Create and maintain Peer Mentor attendance and completion of hours logs
  • Create and maintain Peer Mentor responsibilities during group meetings
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

EDUCATION

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree.
  • A minimum grade point average of 3.0 or higher
  • Open to all majors. Preferred majors: Psychology, Social Work, Education or related field.
  • Enrollment in a graduate program at Ramapo College or another college/university for a

minimum of nine (9) credit hours per semester or two (2) courses per semester, whichever is greater, during the academic year;

  • Proof of course enrollment and good academic standing during the term of this contract.
  • Active and satisfactory academic progress towards completion of a graduate degree in an approved graduate program with transcript provided to the Supervisor(s)/Human Resources Department at the end of each semester;

EXPERIENCE

Experience working with young adults on the Autism Spectrum.

ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

Strong written and oral communication skills.

Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.

Use of office systems and software: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Teams,

Google Suite, Starfish (Connect), Banner, e-mail and voice mail.

Experience with Social Media, Reels and Instagram

Ability to work collaboratively manner with campus partners

Ability to work in an open office with possible distractions
