Job Description
OVERVIEW:
Provide ongoing medical/nursing oversight, support, and direction to programs via internal audit process. Evaluate and assess how a program’s medical service is functioning, ensuring quality of care and adherence to regulatory requirements and agency policy and procedures. Assures quality services for individuals by performing the below listed duties personally or through delegation.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Completes and/or reviews investigations, internal events, special audits, and internal control audits as assigned by Quality Improvement Manager, Associate Director of Compliance and Quality Improvement.
- Acts as a resource for information and/or assistance to all programs to ensure quality services and compliance in medical/nursing areas.
- Completes audits for assigned programs and support departments per established schedule, utilizing established audit tools and protocols.
- Implements agency satisfaction survey process; maintains agency survey database.
- Provides guidance to programs and departments as needed.
- Reviews new regulations and provides recommendations to program to ensure compliance.
- Updates audit tools as necessary to ensure regulatory compliance and quality care.
- Provides reports and recommendations to supervisor regarding significant issues, audit trends and systemic issues.
- Adheres to audit policy and procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Serves on committees as assigned.
- Performs all other duties, tasks and projects as assigned.
ESSENTIAL ACADEMIC AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and/or current NYS RN license.
- Four years nursing experience. At least two of the years in OPWDD system, preferred.
- Must have knowledge of state regulations as related to QI, Nursing/Medical, and experience in policy and procedure development and implementation.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Reliable transportation (NYS Drivers’ Licensed required).
- Ability to work independently and motivate others.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. dead weight.
- Maintain all required certifications/training by State regulations and CDS Monarch policy.
- All experience and education requirements, except when required by federal, state, or local laws or requirements, may be waived at the discretion of management with the approval of the Program Vice President in collaboration with Human Resources.
CORPORATE QUALIFICATIONS:
- Adhere to all CDS Monarch policies and procedures.
- Adhere to the Agency Mission, Vision, Shared Values, and Customer Service Standards.
- Attend mandatory Education and Training modules as scheduled, obtains, and maintains required certifications.
- Act as a professional representative of CDS Monarch in regards to appearance, behavior, temperament, communication, language, and dress.
- Perform all other duties relevant to the position as assigned by supervisor.
The listed salary range represents the organization's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. The offered salary will be determined by: Applicant qualifications and experience, education, position specific licensing/training and departmental budgets.
