Job Description

About The Lisinski Law Firm

Since 2020, Lisinski Law Firm has served as a dedicated humanitarian immigration practice committed to providing meaningful support to individuals and families seeking safety, stability, and a path forward. We frequently stand with clients who have been turned away elsewhere, offering both advocacy and care. Joining our Firm means becoming part of a team devoted to keeping families together and “Changing as Many Lives as Possible.”

About the Role

This is a position for a self-driven Paralegal professional. You won’t just support cases; you will be key in determining the strongest defense strategy for each client, predominantly for I-589 and EOIR 42-B cases, leveraging your immigration court experience in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

  • Technical Ownership: 3 or more years of immigration experience, including I-589 and 42-B applications. You are prepared to deliver on day 1.
  • Autonomy: Act as a subject matter expert. You identify risks, propose solutions to procedural hurdles, and manage escalations independently.

If you are a bilingual professional who masters the intricacies of the Immigration Court and thrives in a high-ownership, self-directed environment, this is your next challenge.

Position Purpose

The Paralegal role involves working closely with legal support staff and attorneys to prepare immigration court case strategies and respond to immigration judges’ orders. Paralegals are trained to handle a wide range of immigration inquiries and tasks before escalating matters to attorneys.

  • Review intake, interview, and initial research notes to develop legal strategies for attorney review
  • Review and adjust case flow in response to immigration judges’ orders
  • Conduct thorough reviews of full court case files prior to preparing clients for court appearances, ensuring they understand their case and what to expect
  • Respond to client concerns and case escalations by identifying solutions or next steps
  • Clearly and respectfully communicate legal information to clients based on attorney guidance
  • Assist in developing and refining internal workflows, scripts, and training materials to improve consistency and efficiency across the Court team
  • Partner with other operations teams to provide strategic insight and additional thoughts on the case process
  • Upon request and where appropriate, help to handle overflow attorney tasks
