Job Description

  • Queenstown based - we welcome applicants currently based in Cromwell or Wanaka who are open to relocate to Queenstown
  • Full-time, permanent position - 45h/week
  • $40 -$43/h (depending on experience) + overtime paid at time and a half

Aquaheat New Zealand is one of New Zealand's most respected HVAC and mechanical project contractors. Alongside our core business, we operate several specialist divisions including AquaFire (fire protection solutions), Colt (louvre and smoke control systems), and Classic Metal (roofing and cladding solutions).

With over 70 years' experience, we deliver end-to-end solutions across commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects. From heating, cooling, and ventilation to fire protection and roofing, we design, install, and maintain systems that help keep New Zealand running.

As an Electrician, your key responsibilities include:

  • Carry out electrical installation and maintenance work to NZ standards
  • Install, test, and commission electrical plant, equipment, and building services
  • Follow project drawings and specifications and liaise with supervisors for clarification
  • Ensure all work meets legislative, safety, and quality requirements
  • Complete required documentation (timesheets, quality forms, site reports) accurately and on time
  • Maintain a safe work environment, report hazards, and follow all H&S procedures
  • Use and care for electrical tools and equipment, reporting faults promptly
  • Work independently or within large teams

This is an ideal opportunity for you to utilise or develop experience in:

  • Commercial electrical installation and maintenance
  • Electrical plant and equipment installation
  • Building services and projectbased electrical work
  • Working independently or within large project teams
  • Interpreting electrical drawings, specifications, and standards
  • Delivering highquality workmanship in fastpaced environments
  • Health & Safety compliance and safe work practices

With the following preferred requirements :

  • NZ Electrical Qualification and/or 3 years relevant electrical experience
  • E4M experience (advantageous but not mandatory)
  • Strong knowledge of New Zealand electrical standards and compliance requirements
  • Valid NZ Driver Licence
  • Experience using electrical hand and power tools
  • Ability to work within large teams, communicate effectively, and maintain strong customer focus
  • Experience working within Health & Safety guidelines and following sitespecific rules
