Position Summary
As an Electrical Assembler, you will assemble and inspect high-reliability electrical, electronic, and mechanical components used in precision pressure transducers for demanding applications around the world. Working from engineering drawings, wiring schematics, and work instructions, you will build products that meet Taber Industries' rigorous quality standards and customer specifications.
Success in this role requires excellent hand-eye coordination, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality. Your work directly contributes to products trusted in aerospace, defense, industrial, space, and research applications where precision and reliability are critical.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform high-reliability soldering for electrical, electronic, and mechanical assemblies, including strain gages.
- Assemble and inspect electronic assemblies in accordance with IPC-A-610 and/or IPC J-STD-001 standards.
- Interpret wiring schematics, engineering drawings, parts lists, and work instructions to accurately complete assemblies.
- Apply potting compounds to assemblies and connectors to provide rigid support and environmental protection.
- Perform precision assembly work using microscopes for extended periods.
- Inspect completed assemblies to verify quality, workmanship, and compliance with specifications.
- Maintain accurate workmanship while meeting production and quality expectations.
- Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to support production goals.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Proficiency in electrical wiring and soldering.
- Experience with surface mount technology (SMT) and electronic assembly.
- Ability to read and interpret wiring schematics and printed circuit boards (PCBs).
- Skilled in the use of hand tools and power tools.
- Mechanical aptitude and basic machining knowledge.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a production environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- IPC J-STD-001 Certification.
- Previous experience in precision manufacturing or electronics assembly.
- Physical Requirements
- Ability to remain seated or stand at a workstation for extended periods.
- Repetitive use of hands and fingers.
- Ability to work under a microscope for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Clear close vision and excellent manual dexterity for precision assembly work.
