Senior Analyst VMI

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Analyst – VMI based in India.

This role is focused on maintaining accurate inventory and supporting financial operations across third-party warehouse activities. You will monitor inventory remotely, reconcile records, and ensure timely and accurate transaction processing. The position combines accounting knowledge, analytical skills, and operational discipline to improve inventory visibility and reduce ageing. You will work with sales, finance, supply chain, and other stakeholders to maintain reliable data and reporting. Strong Excel and ERP capabilities will be important for analyzing information and managing day-to-day processes efficiently. This is a full-time opportunity in Chennai within a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.

Accountabilities
  • Manage inventory held at third-party hub locations through regular reconciliation, monitoring, and tracking activities.
  • Maintain high levels of inventory accuracy by comparing operational records with financial and system data and resolving discrepancies.
  • Create and manage sales orders and purchase orders in accordance with established processes.
  • Monitor inventory ageing and implement appropriate follow-up actions to reduce aged inventory.
  • Prepare and distribute weekly sales and inventory reports, ensuring data is accurate, complete, and presented clearly.
  • Perform reconciliation between sub-module records and the trial balance, investigating variances and supporting timely resolution.
  • Process journal transactions in accordance with standard operating procedures and applicable accounting controls.
  • Support General Ledger, intercompany, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable activities as required.
  • Analyze financial and inventory data to identify discrepancies, trends, and opportunities for process improvement.
  • Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and team members to meet deadlines and maintain efficient workflows.
  • Prepare clear presentations and communicate findings, issues, and recommendations effectively to relevant stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related discipline, such as B.Com, M.Com, BBA, or MBA.
  • Approximately 2–3 years of professional experience in accounting, finance, inventory management, or a related operational finance function.
  • Strong understanding of fundamental accounting principles and experience working with financial transactions and reconciliations.
  • Experience in areas such as General Ledger, intercompany accounting, Accounts Receivable, or Accounts Payable is advantageous.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills, with confidence working extensively with financial and inventory data.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with ERP systems and business communication tools.
  • Ability to reconcile complex datasets, identify discrepancies, and investigate the underlying causes of variances.
  • Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Good presentation and reporting capabilities, with the ability to communicate information clearly to different stakeholders.
  • Strong teamwork, organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage priorities within deadlines.
  • A proactive, accountable, and collaborative approach to problem-solving and day-to-day operations.
