Job Description

Responsibilities

**This role offers a hybrid work option. Initial training will take place at a Norton Healthcare facility, and you must be available to come onsite for business needs as required. Employees in this position must reside in Kentucky or Indiana.**

The Manager, Learning Technologies, Development, and Clinical Systems Training provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for two critical enterprise functions: Learning Technologies & Development - enterprise-wide learning platforms, eLearning design, and technology-driven solutions that enable scalable, high-impact learning experiences. Epic Clinical Systems Training - system-wide education for Epic electronic health record (EHR) applications and related clinical technologies. This role combines visionary strategy, technical expertise, and people leadership to deliver integrated digital learning experiences, optimize Epic adoption, and advance Norton Healthcare's mission of safe, high-quality patient care. The manager leads two multidisciplinary teams and serves as the primary liaison between HR, IT, clinical operations, and executive leadership to ensure learning solutions are innovative, compliant, and aligned with organizational priorities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Leadership. Provide enterprise-wide leadership for learning technology strategy, Epic education, and clinical systems training. Develop and execute a unified vision that integrates digital learning innovation with clinical informatics education to meet regulatory, operational, and workforce development goals. Monitor industry trends to ensure Norton Healthcare remains at the forefront of eLearning, mobile learning, and healthcare informatics education.
  • Learning Technologies & Development. Oversee the enterprise Learning Management System (LMS) (currently Workday Learning), including administration, enhancements, reporting, and system integrations. Lead the design and delivery of engaging, accessible eLearning and blended programs using instructional design best practices. Establish standards for digital content development (SCORM/xAPI packaging, accessibility, mobile responsiveness) and ensure compliance with healthcare regulatory requirements. Manage complex learning technology projects, ensuring clear scope, timelines, budgets, and stakeholder communication.
  • Clinical Systems (Epic) Training. Direct the planning, development, and implementation of Epic training programs for clinical and non-clinical audiences, including Epic upgrade education, new module rollouts, and ongoing competency validation. Guide the creation of blended learning approaches that reflect clinical workflow, evidence-based practice, and nursing process standards. Oversee Epic eLearning platforms and related content within the LMS, ensuring scalability, quality, and security compliance. Lead team initiatives such as peer review processes, superuser preceptor programs, clinical shadowing, policy development, and the transition to hybrid training delivery.
  • Clinical Systems (Epic) Training. Direct the planning, development, and implementation of Epic training programs for clinical and non-clinical audiences, including Epic upgrade education, new module rollouts, and ongoing competency validation. Guide the creation of blended learning approaches that reflect clinical workflow, evidence-based practice, and nursing process standards. Oversee Epic eLearning platforms and related content within the LMS, ensuring scalability, quality, and security compliance.   • Data & Performance Management. Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for system utilization, learner satisfaction, team productivity, and Epic training outcomes. Analyze and share data to inform decision-making and continuous improvement (e.g., course satisfaction, adoption metrics).

Qualifications

Required:
  • Three years of management experience in learning technology, digital learning, clinical education, or healthcare informatics.
  • Three years of experience with LMS platforms (e.g., Workday Learning), eLearning tools (Articulate, Adobe Captivate), and instructional design methodologies.
  • Bachelor's degree

Desired:
  • Master's degree in education, learning technology, organizational development, healthcare informatics, or related discipline.
  • Epic certification, PMP, Lean Six Sigma
