This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Desenvolvedor Microsoft (Power BI) SR based in Brazil.
This is a senior analytics engineering role focused on transforming and modernizing a large-scale BI environment.
You will lead the assessment of existing BI capabilities, identify improvement opportunities, and help establish a scalable analytical platform.
The role combines hands-on Power BI development with semantic modeling, performance optimization, security, and data governance.
You will contribute to a strategic global project centered on strengthening data governance and analytical maturity.
Working with technologies such as Databricks and modern data architectures, you will design solutions that support reliable, high-performing analytics.
The position offers significant autonomy, giving you the opportunity to shape standards, architecture, and best practices across the BI environment.
You will collaborate with global teams, requiring advanced or fluent English and strong communication skills in a fully remote setting.
- Assess the existing BI environment, including data models, performance, adoption, architecture, and development practices, and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Design and develop robust, scalable semantic models that support business intelligence and self-service analytics.
- Build executive-level dashboards and analytical experiences using Power BI, with a strong focus on usability and UX.
- Establish governance standards for Power BI workspaces, datasets, semantic models, deployment processes, and analytical assets.
- Implement security and governance best practices, including Row-Level Security (RLS) and sensitivity labels.
- Optimize Power BI performance using advanced DAX, Power Query (M), VertiPaq optimization, aggregations, and techniques for handling large data volumes.
- Develop and maintain integrations between Power BI and Databricks, including DirectQuery and Delta Sharing scenarios.
- Evaluate the current BI architecture and provide technical recommendations to improve scalability, performance, governance, and maintainability.
- Support the evolution of self-service analytics capabilities while ensuring appropriate standards, controls, and data quality.
- Work with a high degree of autonomy, taking ownership of the BI environment review and proactively driving improvements and technical initiatives.
- Collaborate with global stakeholders to understand analytical needs and translate them into sustainable technical solutions.
- Solid professional experience working with Microsoft Power BI in complex business intelligence or analytics environments.
- Advanced knowledge of semantic modeling and experience designing scalable analytical models.
- Advanced DAX skills, with demonstrated ability to optimize calculations and analytical workloads.
- Strong experience with Power Query (M) and data transformation processes.
- Hands-on expertise in Power BI performance optimization, including VertiPaq, aggregations, and large-volume datasets.
- Strong knowledge of Power BI Service, including Workspaces, Deployment Pipelines, Gateways, and Row-Level Security (RLS).
- Practical experience integrating Power BI with Databricks, particularly through DirectQuery and Delta Sharing.
- Understanding of dashboard UX principles and self-service analytics practices, with the ability to create clear and effective executive dashboards.
- Strong understanding of BI architecture, data governance, security, and analytical best practices.
- Ability to independently assess complex BI environments, identify gaps, and propose and implement meaningful improvements.
- Advanced or fluent English, with confidence communicating regularly with global teams and stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-management skills, combined with a proactive and autonomous working style.
- Microsoft PL-300 certification is desirable.
- Microsoft Fabric DP-600 certification is a plus.
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric, data governance initiatives, Data Lake, Lakehouse, or modern analytical architectures is advantageous.
