🔧 Position SummaryMaintenance Electricians are responsible for identifying root causes of issues and repairing, replacing, rewiring, and installing electrical and instrumentation components. This position ensures compliance with local and national electrical codes and helps maintain electrical inventory. Strong communication with the Maintenance Manager is essential, especially in regard to needs, issues, and after-hours support. You’ll also assist with training, safety programs, and continuous improvement efforts.
🔩 Essential Job FunctionsTroubleshoot root causes and perform repairs, replacements, and rewiring of instrumentation/electrical components
Ensure all work complies with local and national electrical codes (480V, 220V, 110V, 24V DC, 4-20mA loops/circuits)
Maintain documentation of changes and work performed
Maintain and manage inventory of electrical/electronic parts
Communicate with the Maintenance Manager regarding needs and concerns
Respond to emergency plant issues after hours, on weekends, and holidays as needed
Develop, train, and review electrical safety programs (e.g., Arc Flash, electrical integrity)
Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to minimize downtime
Ensure safe, clean, and organized electrical work areas and enclosures
Support GLE’s mission, vision, and values
Perform other duties as assigned
High school diploma or equivalent (required)
Formal training and/or certification in electronics/electrical systems (required)
Minimum 2–3 years of relevant electrical experience (ethanol/industrial environment preferred)
Must hold a current Electrical License
Must obtain Journeyman’s or Master’s/Contractor’s License within 1 year of hire
Experience with:
4-20mA analog and discrete control wiring
PLC/DCS troubleshooting
Ladder logic
Calibration/configuration of flow, level, temperature, pressure, pH instruments
Power systems up to 4160V 3-phase
Proficiency with MS Word and Excel
Knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations
Strong communication skills in English
