Position Title: Vice President, Strategic Development
Department: Operations

Position Summary
National Quality Systems (NQS) is seeking a Vice President, Strategic Development to drive the growth, adoption, and financial performance of Activate360 (A360) across hospitals and health systems. The central accountability of this position is converting identified revenue opportunity into collected revenue.
The position translates revenue cycle requirements into A360 product capabilities, owns implementation and expansion of A360 within assigned customer organizations, serves as the senior revenue cycle resource in executive discussions with customer CFOs and revenue cycle leadership, and partners with the NQS sales organization to position A360 with prospective and existing customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Product Strategy and Development
• Contribute to the development and execution of the NQS revenue cycle strategy, with a focus on converting identified opportunities into collected revenue.
• Partner with NQS product, engineering, and operations teams to translate revenue cycle requirements into A360 product capabilities that align with revenue integrity best practices.
• Identify payer contract requirements, corrected claim requirements, timely filing deadlines, denial patterns, and other factors affecting A360 recoveries.
• Assist with the development of Rebill-Ready documentation that customers can efficiently validate and submit for corrected billing or other appropriate action.
• Identify and implement A360 process improvements across the full recovery workflow, including opportunity validation, corrected billing and rebilling, customer review and approval, claim submission, payer adjudication, claim follow-up, denial and underpayment resolution, and payment.
• Identify sources of revenue leakage within the A360 workflow and implement processes that improve conversion of identified opportunities to collected revenue.
• Connect clinical registry data and workflow, including trauma registry, burn regsitry and surgery registry, to revenue cycle and revenue integrity outcomes, and identify where A360 can strengthen that connection.
Customer Implementation, Adoption, and Expansion
• Own implementation, adoption, optimization, and expansion of A360 within assigned customer organizations.
• Identify and remove operational and revenue cycle barriers that delay recovery of identified opportunities, escalating where required to accelerate resolution.
• Lead activation for newly contracted customers, establishing executive sponsorship and stakeholder alignment from the point of signature forward, and re-engage existing accounts where implementation has stalled or executive sponsorship has weakened.
• Identify expansion opportunities within assigned accounts and partner with sales and account management to convert them.
• Provide leadership with a current assessment of account health, adoption risk, and recovery performance.
Sales Support and Executive Engagement
• Serve as the senior revenue cycle resource in discussions with customer CFOs, revenue cycle executives, revenue integrity leaders, patient financial services, billing, coding, and other stakeholders.
• Partner with the NQS sales organization to position A360 with prospective and existing customers, including executive presentations, return on investment analysis, revenue cycle discovery, pricing discussions, and responses to customer objections.
• Identify and map the correct stakeholders and decision makers within hospital and health system organizations, and support responses to requests for proposal and executive evaluation committees as the subject matter expert.
• Equip the sales organization with the language and clinical and financial context required to position A360 credibly.
Growth Strategy and Market Development
• Recommend opportunities to strengthen A360 growth strategy, positioning, pricing, service levels, go-to-market approach, strategic partnerships, and new revenue opportunities that improve customer return on investment and adoption.
• Represent NQS at industry conferences, professional association events, and speaking engagements, and develop relationships that support A360 growth, market presence, and capabilities.
• Leverage an established professional network within healthcare revenue cycle to source stakeholder input, reference relationships, and market intelligence.
• Provide leadership with structured feedback on competitive positioning, pricing perception, and market readiness for new capabilities.
Team Development
• Assist with recruiting and development of internal revenue integrity, billing, claims recovery, coding, and related personnel to support the growth of A360.
• Assume direct management of these personnel as the function scales, at a point determined by NQS leadership.
General
• Provide clear, timely, and structured reporting to the Senior Vice President, Operations on recovery performance, adoption status, sales support activity, and revenue growth against plan.
• Operate in accordance with NQS policies, HIPAA, and customer confidentiality obligations, and perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business. An equivalent combination of education and directly relevant revenue cycle leadership experience will be considered.
• Demonstrated experience running and managing revenue cycle management programs within a hospital, health system, or comparable healthcare provider organization.
• Demonstrated executive presence and experience influencing senior leadership, including C-suite and vice president level stakeholders.
• Direct healthcare revenue cycle management experience spanning the full revenue cycle, including patient access, mid-cycle, and business office functions.
• Hands-on experience with revenue cycle management software platforms, including evaluation, implementation, optimization, or administration.
• Demonstrated experience in healthcare revenue integrity, including charge capture, coding accuracy, documentation integrity, or payment variance analysis.
• Demonstrated success driving adoption, expansion, or growth outcomes with healthcare provider clients.
• Ability to translate complex operational and financial concepts into clear guidance for technical, commercial, and executive audiences.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present credibly to hospital and health system executive leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
• Working knowledge of clinical registry operations, including trauma registry and surgery registry, and the relationship between registry data and revenue cycle performance.
• Experience with revenue cycle management specific to trauma and surgical service lines.
• Prior experience in a healthcare software, SaaS, or healthcare technology company in a business development, solutions, client success, or subject matter expert capacity.
• Established professional network within healthcare revenue cycle, including relationships with hospital and health system finance and revenue cycle leadership.
• Master’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
• Active participation in relevant professional associations such as HFMA, Beckers, or similar organizations.
• Relevant professional certification such as CRCR, CSPR, CHFP, FHFMA, CPA, EHRC, or comparable credentials.
• Experience presenting at industry conferences or producing published thought leadership content.
