About our organization

At Options for Learning, we partner with children, families, educators, and communities to create strong foundations for lifelong success. Since 1981, we have provided quality early learning and school-age programs, family support services, and child care resources designed to meet the evolving needs of the communities we serve.

Our work is rooted in relationships and guided by our values of integrity, compassion, respect, curiosity, and nurturing. These values shape how we support families, collaborate with one another, and respond to the changing needs of our communities every day.

Every interaction — whether with a family seeking guidance, a child entering a classroom, or a team member working behind the scenes — is an opportunity to create a positive and meaningful experience grounded in trust, empathy, and service.

Serving communities throughout the San Gabriel Valley, Whittier, Pomona Valley, and Northeast Los Angeles, our team is united by a shared commitment to continuous learning, strong partnerships, and helping children and families thrive.

At Options for Learning, employees are more than team members. They are trusted partners in work that makes a meaningful difference for children, families, and the communities we serve.

About this position

The systems analyst is detail-oriented and technically skilled to evaluate, design, and implement efficient information systems that support business operations. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions, ensuring systems are optimized for performance, scalability, and usability.

What you’ll be doing

  • Serving as the primary point of contact and administrator for Options for Learning’s enterprise financial systems, including planning and forecasting tools, by managing user permissions, roles, access, settings, personalization, and support issues;
  • Configuring and maintaining allocation schedules and segment codes, ensuring accurate cost distribution, reporting, and data integrity;
  • Building and maintaining saved searches, dashboards, automated queries, filters, macros, reports, summaries, and logs for senior executives, finance, human resources, and other stakeholders;
  • Gathering and documenting business and technical requirements, translating business objectives into system solutions, and providing technical support, troubleshooting, guidance, training, and user documentation;
  • Serving as the lead liaison between finance, human resources, information technology, external vendors, and other stakeholders for system design, implementation, maintenance, and enhancement projects;
  • Collaborating with developers, engineers, and business analysts to design, test, validate, and implement system modifications or new solutions that meet functionality and performance requirements;
  • Continuously evaluating system performance, supporting critical maintenance and operational tasks, staying current on emerging technologies and NetSuite capabilities, and recommending improvements where appropriate;
  • Ensuring adherence to organizational policies and system compliance with data security and privacy requirements;
  • Working effectively with other team members and actively participating in the annual in-service training;
  • Abiding by all of Options for Learning’s policies and procedures. Attending training as required;
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

What you bring to the table

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, human resources management, business administration, or a related field;
  • Minimum two years’ experience managing and supporting NetSuite;
  • Two years of related finance and/or IT experience;
  • Ability to correctly and effectively communicate in written and oral English;
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail;
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and technical support skills;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, and Teams).
  • Experience in system workflows, approvals set-up and implementation; (preferred)
  • Experience with Paylocity, Dynamics 365, or similar Enterprise Resource Planning, HR/Payroll, Customer Relationship Management systems, and industry specific systems; (preferred)
  • Familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies; (preferred)
  • NetSuite scripting and development — SuiteScript deployments, workflows, bundles, and other custom NetSuite features; (preferred)
  • NetSuite Administrator or SuiteFoundation certification; (preferred)
  • Experience producing and overseeing advanced SuiteAnalytics datasets and custom reporting; (preferred)
  • Familiarity with integrations between NetSuite and other business systems; (preferred)
  • Basic understanding of finance and budgeting concepts (e.g., allocations, cost segmentation, general ledger reporting); (preferred)
  • Experience in a nonprofit or similarly regulated environment. (preferred)

What we can offer you

  • Medical/dental/vision for part- and full-time employees (organization pays up to 95% of employee's premiums; prorated for part-time);
  • Organization-paid and matching retirement plan;
  • Professional growth opportunities, including free child development courses and college reimbursement;
  • Generous and flexible PTO;
  • Dedicated, mission-driven colleagues, and much more!

Job specifications

  • Reports to the applications manager;
  • Non-exempt, full-time, twelve-month work year;
  • Eight-hour workday, four-day workweek;
  • Hybrid work schedule with approval by management;
  • Organization-wide winter break;
  • Limited evening or weekend work may be required;
  • Employment, responsibilities, compensation and other factors may be affected by changes in governmental regulations, the organization’s contracts, or at the organization’s discretion.
