Associate Director, Clinical RPh

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Associate Director, Clinical RPh based in United States.

This is a senior pharmacy leadership role focused on improving medication use, member health outcomes, and the overall value of pharmacy programs. You will lead a team of approximately six associates while shaping clinical program strategies and initiatives. The role combines deep clinical expertise with business and managed-care acumen to address pharmacy cost trends. You will help develop, implement, and optimize programs that improve outcomes while enhancing the member experience. Success requires strong decision-making, resource management, and the ability to build a culture of accountability and collaboration. This fully remote opportunity offers broad organizational exposure and the chance to influence pharmacy strategy at scale.

Accountabilities
  • Lead a pharmacy clinical program team and establish a culture of accountability, high performance, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop, implement, and optimize clinical pharmacy programs designed to improve medication use, health outcomes, member experience, and pharmacy cost trends.
  • Apply clinical expertise alongside business judgment to identify opportunities, evaluate priorities, and make sound strategic decisions.
  • Leverage knowledge of managed care and pharmacy benefit management practices to develop effective strategies and program initiatives.
  • Provide direction and leadership across pharmacy clinical program trend development and execution, ensuring initiatives align with broader organizational objectives.
  • Optimize team resources and capabilities while coaching, developing, and supporting direct reports and matrixed partners.
  • Analyze pharmacy trends and business opportunities to generate actionable insights and inform program strategy.
  • Collaborate across functions to translate clinical and business priorities into practical, measurable programs and outcomes.
  • Represent the pharmacy clinical function with strong judgment, clear communication, and an ability to balance member, clinical, and business considerations.
Requirements:
  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or RPh degree from an accredited School of Pharmacy.
  • Active, unrestricted pharmacy license in the state of residence.
  • Previous experience in pharmacy clinical program trend development or a closely related pharmacy strategy function.
  • Strong understanding of managed care and pharmacy benefit management practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide direction, make sound decisions, and manage complex clinical and business priorities.
  • Experience generating business insights from pharmacy, health outcomes, or related data.
  • Leadership experience, including coaching, developing, and leading direct reports and/or matrixed teams, is strongly preferred.
  • Approximately 5 years of experience in pharmacy benefits management is preferred.
  • Board Certification in Pharmacotherapy (BCPS) is a plus.
  • Additional training or education in business administration, pharmacoeconomics, or health outcomes is advantageous.
  • Experience in health outcomes research is preferred.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, strategic thinking, and resource-management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote environment while maintaining a dedicated workspace suitable for protecting confidential health information.
  • Reliable home internet access meeting minimum requirements of approximately 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for training, meetings, or other business needs.

  • Annual base salary range of $150,000–$206,300, depending on location, experience, education, certifications, and other job-related factors.
