In this hands-on backend engineering role, you will support critical database infrastructure operations with a strong focus on reliability, scalability, and continuous improvement. You will work across engineering and platform teams to manage and stabilize version upgrades for distributed database systems such as MySQL, Redis, and Vitess. This position plays a key role in ensuring smooth database evolution by identifying issues, implementing fixes, and validating system performance through structured testing. You will also contribute to building automation and tooling that streamline upgrade workflows and reduce operational risk. Working in a fully remote, collaborative environment, you will help maintain the stability of mission-critical backend systems while enabling faster and safer database modernization. • Support and manage version upgrades for Vitess, MySQL, and Redis across distributed environments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in collaboration with multiple engineering teams.
• Design and execute testing strategies to validate stability and performance of upgraded database versions.
• Develop automation tools and scripts to streamline database upgrade, deployment, and maintenance processes.
• Collaborate with backend, platform, and infrastructure teams to ensure seamless integration of database changes.
• Monitor system behavior during upgrades and proactively identify risks or performance degradation.
• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts aimed at increasing reliability and reducing operational overhead.
• Document processes, tools, and best practices for database support and lifecycle management.

• Strong experience in backend development with Python.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes in production or large-scale environments.
• Familiarity with MySQL, Redis, and Vitess, including operational support and upgrades.
• Experience working with database version management, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
• Proven ability to build automation tools and support infrastructure workflows.
