Functional Service Provider- Line Manager

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Functional Service Provider – Line Manager based in the United States.

This is a people leadership role within a clinical research environment, focused on driving high-quality delivery of project activities while leading and developing a team of professionals.
You will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operational execution, ensuring that project deliverables are completed accurately, on time, and in alignment with quality standards.
The role combines team leadership, project oversight, and client-facing collaboration in a fast-paced, regulated clinical research setting.
You will mentor and support direct reports, helping them build capability, improve performance, and achieve both individual and project objectives.
A key aspect of the role involves resource planning, workload management, and ensuring optimal team efficiency across assigned studies.
You will also collaborate closely with project leadership, sponsors, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure successful study execution.
This position offers the opportunity to contribute directly to advancing clinical research that impacts patient outcomes globally.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead, manage, and support a team responsible for clinical research project deliverables, ensuring quality, timeliness, and compliance with study requirements.
  • Oversee project execution activities, including monitoring progress, maintaining accurate documentation, and supporting study status reporting.
  • Manage resource allocation, staffing plans, workload distribution, and team efficiency across assigned projects.
  • Act as a liaison between direct reports, project leadership, sponsors, and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and performance visibility.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and technical support to team members to strengthen capabilities and improve delivery outcomes.
  • Conduct quality oversight of deliverables, ensuring adherence to project plans, SOPs, GCP, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in performance management processes, including reviews, feedback cycles, and development planning.
  • Support client engagement activities and contribute to business development or proposal efforts when required.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, pharmacy, nursing, or a related health/scientific discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Substantial experience in clinical research, monitoring, or data management within a CRO or pharmaceutical environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and manage teams in a performance-driven environment.
  • Strong understanding of clinical trials, GCP, ICH guidelines, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Experience managing project deliverables, timelines, and cross-functional stakeholder expectations.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal); additional language skills are a plus.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, regulated environment with attention to detail and quality.
  • Experience in resource planning, operational oversight, or functional service provider models is highly desirable.
