Job Description

Staff Product Designer (Grant OS)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Staff Product Designer (Grant OS) based in United States.

This is a high-impact senior design role focused on shaping the foundational platform layer of a fast-scaling SaaS product used by thousands of nonprofit organizations. You will be responsible for defining how complex grant workflows, data relationships, and cross-functional systems come together into a unified user experience.
The work spans both greenfield product discovery and the evolution of deeply interconnected platform surfaces, requiring strong systems thinking and comfort with ambiguity.
You will operate as a strategic partner to product and engineering leadership, influencing product direction rather than simply executing on defined requirements.
A key part of the role involves setting design standards and reusable patterns that will scale across the entire product ecosystem.
You will also play a mentorship and leadership role within the design organization, elevating craft and consistency across teams.
This is an opportunity to build mission-driven software that helps nonprofits unlock and manage critical funding at scale.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead end-to-end design for the GrantOS platform, including discovery, research, prototyping, and delivery across core and platform surfaces
  • Define interaction models, system patterns, and design foundations that scale across the broader product ecosystem
  • Design and evolve complex workflows across grant tracking, reporting, task management, and integrations
  • Drive zero-to-one product development in ambiguous or newly defined problem spaces
  • Conduct and synthesize user research to translate complex user needs into clear product direction
  • Partner closely with product and engineering leadership to shape strategy and align on execution
  • Contribute to and elevate the overall design system, ensuring consistency and scalability
  • Mentor and support other designers while helping raise the overall design quality bar
Requirements:
  • 8+ years of product design experience, including senior or staff-level ownership of complex products
  • Proven experience designing and shipping end-to-end B2B SaaS products with multi-entity workflows
  • Strong track record of zero-to-one product work where problem definition is ambiguous
  • Deep expertise in systems thinking, interaction design, and prototyping (Figma proficiency required)
  • Strong user research skills, from planning through synthesis and insight generation
  • Ability to influence product strategy and collaborate effectively with cross-functional leadership
  • Experience working with data-heavy, workflow-driven, or enterprise-adjacent systems (preferred)
  • Background in design systems, including defining scalable patterns (preferred)
  • Exposure to AI-enabled or agentic product experiences (preferred)
  • Experience mentoring or coaching other designers (preferred)
  • Familiarity with nonprofit or mission-driven domains (a plus)
Benefits:
  • Competitive base salary range of $210,000–$245,000 (US-based candidates) plus equity
  • 100% employer-covered health, dental, and vision insurance for employees (50% for dependents)
  • Generous PTO and parental leave policies
  • 401(k) retirement plan
  • Home office stipend and company-provided laptop
  • Bi-annual company retreats
  • Opportunity to work on high-impact products serving the nonprofit sector
  • Fast-paced environment with continuous learning and growth opportunities
