Who we are…Penndel Mental Health Center is a private, non-profit community based organization that provides mental health outpatient treatment among other services for the Bucks County community. Penndel has been providing psychiatric and social services to residents of Lower Bucks County for over 50 years. In the coming months we are joining in strategic partnership with another well established and strong community-based organization – Family Service Association of Bucks County – to build an impactful service provider agency that will be a leader in behavioral healthcare supports for years to come!
Come build with us…We are looking for a Medical Director that will carry over into the newly forming (yet to be named) organization. The Medical Director will be responsible for the medical oversight of our merging programs, and for the quality of clinical work done by the prescribing staff. The Medical Director is expected to perform some direct service clinical work as well. The Medical Director ensures that treatment is offered with compassion and expertise while following proper procedures, regulations and policies.

Position: Medical Director
Location: Langhorne, PA
Department: Outpatient
Qualifications (Education and Experience):
MD or DO with at least two years of clinical psychiatric supervisory experience. Board-certified in Psychiatry with active license in Pennsylvania.
- Outpatient and child psychiatric experience preferred.
Salary
Minimum starting salary $300,000.00 Salary may be higher based on experience.
Essential Job Duties:
- The Medical Director is responsible for the overall operation of the agency psychiatric team in tandem with Program Leadership, including but not limited to:
- Daily management of prescribing staff.
- Collaborative agreements with CRNPs and/or PAs on staff
- Maintaining a clinical caseload.
- Performing psychiatric evaluation and medication management for Outpatient Departments.
- Ensuring clinical supervision is available during all operational hours.
- Participating in strategic planning initiatives.
- Providing clinical trainings to all clinical staff.
- Participating in the peer review processes and quality assurance initiatives.
- Maintaining regular meetings with prescriber staff to discuss clinical cases, treatment plans, policies and procedures.
- Developing and implementing policies and procedures for the operation of the psychiatric outpatient clinic.
- Ensure compliance with OMHSAS standards and recovery-oriented care principles.
- Overseeing the employment, supervision and discharge of clinical staff according to established personnel policies.
- Performing related duties as required/assigned by the CEO.
Physical Requirements:
- This position normally requires the physical demands of standing, walking, bending, lifting, sitting on the floor or performing other work requiring low physical exertion, ability to move quickly in a crisis situation, talking and hearing on a regular basis to perform the job requirements. These physical demands are required up to 80% of the time.
