Job Description
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional guest service in a professional, friendly, and engaging manner.
- Greet guests promptly and create a welcoming dining experience.
- Build positive relationships with guests and anticipate their needs.
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge of food, beverage, and daily feature menus.
- Take food and beverage orders accurately and provide menu recommendations.
- Answer guest questions regarding menu items, ingredients, and beverage selections.
- Enter orders accurately and communicate effectively with kitchen and bar teams.
- Serve food and beverages in accordance with established service standards.
- Perform quality checks to ensure guest satisfaction throughout the dining experience.
- Clear and reset tables while maintaining cleanliness and organization in the dining area.
- Process guest bills accurately and handle cash, debit, credit, and other payment transactions.
- Resolve guest concerns professionally and escalate issues to management when necessary.
- Maintain a sense of urgency while delivering efficient and attentive service.
- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth restaurant operations.
- Adhere to all food safety, liquor service, health, and safety regulations.
- Maintain a professional appearance and uphold company standards at all times.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of serving experience in a fast-paced upscale or fine-dining restaurant.
- Valid Serving It Right (or provincial equivalent) certification.
- Must be at least 18 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages.
- Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong sales and upselling abilities.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong product knowledge or the ability to quickly learn menu offerings.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Self-motivated with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Basic mathematical skills for processing payments and handling cash.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive movements throughout a shift.
- Ability to lift and carry food and beverage trays weighing up to 65 pounds.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
