Education & Experience:
Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, with a strong understanding of accounting principles. Minimum of 3–5 years of relevant experience required; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Essential Functions:
- Manage monthly accounting for assigned resort(s), including journal entries, reconciliations, daily audit review, and coordination of on-site accounting processes.
- Prepare, analyze, and review financial statements; partner with General Managers to review results and ensure accuracy before final submission.
- Lead monthly financial review process, including responding to questions, tracking action items, and distributing finalized reports and analysis.
- Oversee budget and forecast processes, ensuring adherence to corporate timelines, guidance, and standards.
- Ensure financial reporting complies with USALI standards; review transactions for proper coding and accuracy.
- Monitor key on-site financial controls (e.g., inventory, collections, cash handling) and billing processes for owners/associations.
- Manage accounting for resort associations, including financial statements, board reporting, dues collection oversight, and budget development/presentation.
- Serve as liaison to association boards on financial matters, including dues, assessments, and cash planning for major projects.
- Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes, reporting efficiency, and financial insights.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and standards; complete special projects as assigned.
Additional/As-Needed Responsibilities:
- Review sales tax filings and support audits and year-end close.
- Provide cross-functional finance support (reconciliations, variance analysis, reporting, etc.).
- Assist with new association setup and accounting.
- Develop reports (e.g., in Sage) and provide occasional on-site operational support.

- Understanding of resort accounting processes and operations
- Advanced computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Experience with accounting systems such as Sage Intacct, M3, or similar software
Work Environment:
This is a hybrid position requiring both remote work and on-site presence. Candidates must be based in Minnesota. Travel to the corporate office in Duluth, MN, and to assigned resort properties will be required as needed to support business operations.
Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, the employee may be required to work varying schedules that reflect the business needs of the resort. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be constantly required to sit and use hands. The employee will be frequently required to talk and hear. The employee will seldom be required to stand, walk, reach, stoop and kneel. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision requirements include close and distance vision.
