Sterile Processing Technician - SURGERY CENTER in Flemington, New Jersey at Hunterdon Health Care System

Hunterdon Center for Surgery, located in Flemington NJ is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician. Under limited supervision, and/or working independently, carries out the safe collection of used medical equipment and instrumentation followed by decontamination, sterilization, assembling, and testing as required. Responsible for the shelving, charging, maintenance, and distribution of medical supplies and linen.

High School Diploma or equivalent is required with a minimum of 1 year of experience in a sterile processing department preferred. Certification as a Sterile Processing Tech is preferred. If hired without Certification, a candidate must attain Certification within 2 years of employment and must pass the national exam. Responsible for instrument tray assembly, operation of steam sterilization, instrument inspection is required. Ability to handle high stress, high volume situations is required.

The ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing is essential.
