This role plays a critical part in supporting organ transplant coordination and donor offer management within a highly regulated, fast-paced clinical environment. You will be responsible for screening and evaluating donor organ offers, ensuring alignment with transplant center criteria and national OPTN guidelines. Acting as a key clinical liaison, you will present time-sensitive information to physicians and transplant teams while maintaining accuracy, urgency, and compliance at every step. The position also involves direct communication with clinical stakeholders and, when required, recipient patients and families, ensuring clarity and professionalism throughout the transplant process. You will contribute to documentation in electronic medical records and specialized transplant systems, supporting continuity of care. This is a mission-driven role where precision, responsiveness, and clinical judgment directly impact patient outcomes and life-saving decisions.
- Screen and evaluate donor organ offers from OPTN systems in accordance with transplant center criteria and national guidelines.
- Present and communicate donor information to designated physicians or clinical teams in a timely and accurate manner.
- Maintain required training, certifications, and system access for hospital, OPTN, and internal platforms.
- Ensure continuous availability and responsiveness during assigned on-call shifts, including rapid response within required timeframes.
- Document all pre- and post-transplant activities accurately within EMR systems and OPTN-related platforms.
- Collaborate with internal teams to support training, onboarding, and evaluation of new coordinators.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with healthcare providers, patients, and families as part of the transplant coordination process.
- Ensure adherence to clinical protocols, policies, and regulatory requirements at all times.
- Bachelor’s degree in health sciences, nursing, general science, or equivalent clinical experience in transplant-related fields.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a clinical or transplant coordination environment.
- Strong understanding of transplant processes, organ allocation systems, and clinical workflows.
- Ability to operate effectively under time-sensitive, high-pressure conditions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interaction with clinical teams and patients.
- Experience with EMR systems and healthcare documentation tools.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow strict regulatory and procedural guidelines.
- Availability to work 24-hour on-call shifts with rapid response requirements.
- Preferred: ABTC certification such as CCRN or CPTC.
