This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Platform Engineer - Secret/Top Secret in the United States.

This is a mission-critical engineering role supporting secure, cloud-native platforms used in highly sensitive and regulated environments. The position focuses on building, operating, and hardening scalable infrastructure that enables developers to deliver software efficiently and securely. Working at the intersection of platform engineering, DevSecOps, and cloud infrastructure, the role involves designing resilient Kubernetes-based environments, automating infrastructure delivery, and improving system observability and reliability. Engineers in this role contribute directly to production environments supporting mission-focused users while ensuring security, compliance, and operational excellence. The environment is highly collaborative, fast-evolving, and centered on solving complex technical challenges across hybrid and multi-cloud systems. This opportunity is ideal for engineers who thrive in secure, high-impact contexts and want to work on infrastructure that supports critical national and enterprise-level missions.

Accountabilities:
  • Operate and maintain secure, production-grade Kubernetes-based cloud environments supporting critical application workloads.
  • Design and implement Infrastructure-as-Code solutions using Terraform or OpenTofu across cloud and hybrid environments.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines covering build, test, security scanning, deployment, and release automation.
  • Deploy and manage infrastructure across multiple platforms including AWS, Azure, GCP, and on-premise systems.
  • Develop observability solutions using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, ELK, or OpenSearch to ensure system reliability and incident response.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and respond to production incidents to maintain system availability and performance.
  • Implement automation for system security hardening, configuration management, and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to identify platform gaps, improve workflows, and enhance developer experience.
  • Contribute to architectural decisions and long-term platform evolution in a DevSecOps environment.
  • Work within Agile teams to deliver continuous improvements in platform stability, scalability, and security.
Requirements:
  • Active U.S. Secret or Top Secret security clearance (mandatory).
  • 3+ years of experience operating production cloud-native systems in Kubernetes environments.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform or OpenTofu.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation using Go, Python, Bash, or similar languages.
  • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP and hybrid infrastructure environments.
  • Experience implementing observability and monitoring systems using Prometheus, Grafana, and logging/metrics stacks.
  • Understanding of secure system design principles and compliance frameworks such as NIST 800-171/800-53 or FedRAMP.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to operate independently and within cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • U.S. citizenship and eligibility for government security requirements.
Benefits:
  • Competitive salary range of $123,250 – $201,250 USD annually.
  • 100% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company contributions.
  • Flexible remote work across the United States.
  • Flexible time off, federal holidays, and extended holiday breaks.
  • Paid parental leave and family support programs.
  • Learning and development reimbursement for training, certifications, and conferences.
  • Home office stipend and equipment support.
  • Equity and stock option opportunities.
  • Exposure to mission-critical, high-security infrastructure environments.
  • Inclusive, mission-driven culture focused on innovation and impact.
