Job Description
This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Infrastructure Tech Lead — Infra Core in Germany.
This is an exceptional opportunity for a highly experienced infrastructure engineer to lead the evolution of large-scale cloud and platform systems in a fast-paced global SaaS environment. The role combines deep technical ownership with strategic influence, enabling you to shape infrastructure standards, developer experience, and operational excellence across a rapidly growing engineering organization. You will work hands-on with Kubernetes ecosystems, distributed systems, observability frameworks, and automation tooling while guiding architectural direction across critical services. Operating in a remote-first and highly autonomous environment, you’ll collaborate closely with engineering, security, DevOps, and platform teams to solve complex scalability and reliability challenges. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in high-impact environments, enjoys solving foundational infrastructure problems, and wants to drive meaningful improvements at enterprise scale.
- Lead the technical direction and architectural strategy for core infrastructure services and platform tooling across a distributed engineering organization.
- Design, build, and optimize scalable Kubernetes-based infrastructure, GitOps workflows, observability systems, and service provisioning pipelines.
- Drive improvements in developer experience by automating infrastructure operations, reducing manual toil, and enabling self-service deployment capabilities.
- Act as the senior escalation point during critical incidents, troubleshooting complex production issues and implementing long-term reliability solutions.
- Architect and maintain secure infrastructure practices, including secrets management, zero-downtime credential rotation, and infrastructure security standards.
- Build and evolve high-performance distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and real-time infrastructure capabilities supporting modern AI and platform workloads.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with DevOps, InfoSec, database, and engineering teams to align infrastructure initiatives with organizational priorities.
- Mentor engineers through technical leadership, code reviews, architecture discussions, and engineering best practices while remaining fully hands-on in delivery.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, including significant expertise in cloud infrastructure and platform engineering.
- Strong experience with Kubernetes, Helm, GitOps methodologies, cloud platforms (AWS/GCP), and the CNCF ecosystem.
- Advanced programming skills in languages such as Go, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Node.js, with the ability to build production-grade systems.
- Proven background designing and operating distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and scalable infrastructure platforms.
- Hands-on experience with message brokers such as Kafka or NATS and strong understanding of service orchestration patterns.
- Expertise in observability tooling, OpenTelemetry adoption, logging pipelines, monitoring strategies, and production reliability engineering.
- Experience building Kubernetes extensions, operators, controllers, or custom infrastructure primitives.
- Strong understanding of relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL in modern cloud-native environments.
- Demonstrated success leading complex infrastructure projects from planning to production deployment in cross-functional global teams.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and technical decision-making abilities in highly autonomous environments.
- Nice to have: experience with internal developer platforms, platform engineering tooling, or enterprise-scale developer experience initiatives.
Benefits:
- Competitive compensation package with stock grant opportunities based on role and location.
- Fully remote work environment with flexible working arrangements across EMEA.
- Optional access to co-working spaces and WeWork locations.
- Additional country-specific perks and employment benefits depending on location.
- Opportunity to work on high-impact infrastructure challenges at massive global scale.
- Fast-paced, high-growth environment with strong career acceleration opportunities.
- Collaborative and highly autonomous engineering culture focused on innovation and execution.
- Exposure to cutting-edge technologies across cloud infrastructure, observability, AI workloads, and distributed systems.
