This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Director of Security Architecture and Engineering in the United States.
This executive-level role is responsible for defining and driving the security architecture strategy that underpins highly regulated, mission-critical public sector environments. You will lead the design and evolution of secure, scalable, and compliant infrastructure across cloud, network, identity, and data protection domains. Acting as a key technical authority, you will shape long-term cybersecurity roadmaps aligned with federal standards and emerging threats. The role combines deep hands-on security expertise with enterprise-level leadership, influencing both technical execution and organizational strategy. You will partner closely with executive stakeholders, government agencies, and cross-functional teams to ensure security excellence at scale. This is a high-impact leadership position where your decisions directly shape national-level security services and modernization efforts.
You will define, lead, and execute the enterprise security architecture vision for public sector programs, ensuring compliance, resilience, and continuous modernization of critical systems.
- Set the multi-year vision and roadmap for security architecture across public sector cloud and network environments.
- Lead enterprise-wide security design across cloud, identity, network, SOC/SIEM, and data protection domains.
- Oversee compliance strategy and execution across FISMA, FedRAMP, NIST RMF, TIC 3.0, CMMC, and related frameworks.
- Guide modernization initiatives including cloud migration, automation, and next-generation security platform development.
- Serve as a senior technical advisor to government CIO/CISO stakeholders and internal executive leadership.
- Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing team of security architects and engineers.
- Partner with product, engineering, operations, and compliance teams to deliver secure and compliant solutions.
This role requires deep cybersecurity expertise, executive leadership capability, and extensive experience in regulated federal or enterprise environments.
- 15+ years of experience in cybersecurity or network/security engineering, including 5–7+ years in architecture leadership roles.
- Deep knowledge of federal compliance frameworks including FISMA, FedRAMP, NIST RMF, TIC 3.0, and CMMC.
- Strong technical expertise in cloud security, network architecture, identity systems, SIEM/SOC design, and security automation.
- Proven ability to define security strategy, build multi-year roadmaps, and lead cross-functional execution.
- Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills with government and enterprise leadership exposure.
- Master’s degree required; CISSP or CISM preferred.
- U.S. citizenship required with eligibility for federal clearance (Secret+ preferred).
