Summary

While performing duties related to St. Clair Hospital, this position assumes 24-hour responsibility for overall operation of assigned area(s). Collaborates with Director in the management of services within the department. Plans, organizes, directs, maintains, and evaluates patient care and unit activities within established policies, procedures, and regulatory standards. Communicates policies, procedures, and departmental and Hospital information to staff, physicians, and customers. Maintains the integrity of the service to meet all accreditation and licensure requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in nursing or a health-related field.
2. Current license to practice professional nursing in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
3. Three years of operating room experience.
4. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Certification in applicable clinical specialty.
2. Master’s-level degree in nursing, business, or a health-related field.
3. Prior experience running the daily operation of an operating room with block scheduling.
