This role is responsible for shaping and scaling the foundational AI platform that powers a leading vertical SaaS solution in the lending industry. You will define and own the infrastructure, APIs, data pipelines, and developer tooling that enable AI-driven capabilities across multiple internal product teams and, in some cases, external partners. The position requires a strong blend of product thinking and technical depth, with the ability to engage in meaningful discussions with ML and engineering teams while translating complex tradeoffs into clear product direction. You will operate at the intersection of platform engineering, AI/ML systems, and developer experience, ensuring scalability, reliability, and usability of core AI services. The environment is highly technical, fast-evolving, and focused on production-grade AI systems. This is a high-impact role where your decisions directly influence how AI capabilities are built, deployed, and adopted across the organization.
- Own the end-to-end strategy and roadmap for the AI platform layer, aligning it with broader product and business objectives.
- Define and evolve core platform capabilities, including model serving infrastructure, APIs, SDKs, data pipelines, and developer tooling.
- Partner with engineering and ML teams to evaluate build-vs-buy decisions and establish scalable AI architecture standards.
- Design and govern developer experience standards, including API contracts, versioning policies, documentation, and onboarding flows.
- Establish AI governance frameworks covering model lifecycle management, observability, compliance, and risk controls.
- Define platform reliability and performance metrics such as latency, availability, throughput, and adoption.
- Collaborate with internal product teams to improve integration, reduce friction, and optimize time-to-value for AI capabilities.
- Monitor industry trends in AI/ML to identify opportunities for platform innovation and improvement.
- 5+ years of product management experience, including at least 3+ years focused on platform, infrastructure, or developer tools.
- Proven experience delivering AI/ML or enterprise SaaS products from concept to production.
- Strong technical fluency in AI/ML concepts, including LLMs, inference systems, embeddings, and model lifecycle management.
- Experience defining APIs, SDKs, data contracts, and developer experience frameworks for technical users.
- Ability to engage deeply with engineering and ML teams on architecture, performance, and system design tradeoffs.
- Strong understanding of data pipelines, event-driven systems, and modern data infrastructure concepts.
- Experience in vertical SaaS or lending/mortgage technology is highly preferred.
- Excellent communication, storytelling, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Competitive salary within a $104,148 – $170,000 range
