About the Role:
The Registered Nurse (RN) plays a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care across diverse healthcare settings. This position involves comprehensive assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care to meet the physical and emotional needs of patients. The RN collaborates closely with interdisciplinary teams to ensure effective treatment plans and patient safety. Additionally, the role emphasizes patient education and advocacy to empower individuals and families in managing their health. Ultimately, the RN contributes to improving patient outcomes through skilled clinical practice and compassionate care.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Ohio
- A five years of experience working in the alcohol/Drug and/or Mental Health Field is preferred.
- Experience with Detox patients.
- Familiarity with CIWA/COWS assessments
- CPR and First certification
- Demonstrated experience in direct patient care Strong knowledge of telemetry and wound care procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Experience working with nurse practitioners in a collaborative care environment.
- Experience working in an AOD/Mental Health Environment is preferred, but not required
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and performing client assessments
- Observe clients, charting and reporting changes
- Review clients' medications and document on Medication Profile upon client intake and upon new scripts being received
- Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate medical care.
- Document patient information accurately and maintain detailed medical records in compliance with healthcare regulations
Skills:
The required skills such as direct patient care and wound care are essential for daily clinical tasks, ensuring patients receive timely and effective treatment. Patient education skills enable the nurse to communicate complex medical information clearly, fostering patient understanding and compliance. Telemetry expertise is critical for continuous cardiac monitoring and rapid response to changes in patient condition. Patient advocacy skills ensure that nurses act as a voice for patients, promoting their rights and preferences within the healthcare system. Additionally, knowledge in medical/surgical and pediatric nursing allows the nurse to adapt care plans to diverse patient populations, enhancing overall care quality.
