Job Description
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Rubber Press Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring production press equipment to manufacture quality components that meet company specifications. This position plays a critical role in maintaining production efficiency, product quality, and workplace safety. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and committed to producing high-quality work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
This will be a night shift position and will work Monday - Thursday 10-hour shifts weekly starting on 1st shift working 5:00 am to 3:00 pm. After approximately 3 months they will move to 2nd shift working 2:45 pm to 12:45 am.
SPECIFIC TASKS AND DUTIES:
- Set up and operate press equipment according to production schedules and work instructions.
- Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as necessary to ensure product quality and operational efficiency.
- Inspect parts and finished products to verify compliance with specifications and quality standards.
- Perform routine machine maintenance, lubrication, and cleaning activities.
- Identify equipment malfunctions and notify supervisors or maintenance personnel as needed.
- Read and interpret production orders, work instructions, blueprints, and measurement tools.
- Maintain accurate production and quality records.
- Ensure materials are properly loaded, positioned, and handled throughout the production process.
- Follow all company safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with housekeeping standards.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read measuring devices such as tape measures, calipers, and gauges.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous manufacturing, production, machine operation, or press operation experience preferred.
- Experience operating hydraulic, mechanical, or punch press equipment.
- Experience in a metal fabrication or industrial manufacturing environment.
- Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Operating hydraulic presses which includes setup, running and monitoring parts.
- Strong understanding of workplace safety practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Troubleshooting problem parts and using critical thinking to fix issues.
- Follow all safety procedures and protocols.
- Strong attention to details when it comes to monitoring quality of parts
- Ability to work and communicate with others in a production setting.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet production deadlines.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and quality workmanship.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Frequent use of hands and arms to operate equipment and handle materials.
- Able to lift heavy molds 50 lbs. labor background.
- Ability to work in the heat.
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and perform repetitive motions.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, moving machinery, and varying temperatures.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position is performed in a manufacturing facility. Employees are required to comply with all safety requirements and wear appropriate personal protective equipment while performing job duties.
