Overall Responsibilities:

As a Lead Bartender at Golden Age Hospitality, you set the tone—literally and culturally—for every guest who steps up to the bar. You are both an ambassador of our beverage program and a service-driven leader on the floor. In this dual role, you are responsible for executing high-quality bar service while overseeing nightly bar operations, maintaining product standards, supporting your bar team, and ensuring alignment with the pace, polish, and personality of our nightlife experience.


You are expected to bring deep knowledge of classic cocktails, natural wine, and service flow, while modeling professionalism, consistency, and situational awareness behind the bar. Your leadership contributes directly to team morale, bar efficiency, and guest satisfaction.

Physical Job Requirements
  • Standing for long periods of time

  • Ability To Lift/Pull/Push up to 50 LBS

  • Able to walk, stand, and/or bend continuously and for extended periods as required to perform essential job functions

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, nightlife-driven environment with high guest volume and elevated expectations

  • Able to work nights, weekends, holidays, and variable schedules, per the needs of the restaurant

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Full knowledge of the food and cocktail menu.

  • Monthly and weekly Inventory through Beverager.

  • Prepare and serve classic cocktails, natural wines, and house beverage offerings consistently according to venue standards.

  • Engage guests in a warm, informed, and elegant manner that reflects each venue’s concept and Golden Age’s service values.

  • Operate toast POS systems and manage transactions with accuracy and accountability.

  • Maintain compliance with New York State Alcohol Beverage Control Law (ABC) and internal service protocols.

  • Manage high-pressure guest service situations with professionalism, emotional stability, and conflict resolution skills.

  • Uphold health, safety, and cleanliness standards in accordance with NYC Health Code and Golden Age Hospitality policy.

BAR LEADERSHIP
  • Lead nightly bar operations, including pacing, station assignments, and team flow.

  • Train, guide, and support bartenders and barbacks during service.

  • Ensure proper execution of menu items, specials, and updated spec changes.

  • Coordinate with MOD to resolve issues, manage guest concerns, and deliver a seamless FOH experience.

  • Ensure closing/opening duties are completed properly and consistently.

  • Foster a collaborative, respectful environment behind the bar.

  • Lead by example in service tempo, tone, and professionalism.

  • Relay key guest or operational feedback to management.

  • Support the mentoring of new bar staff.

set up/ side-work
  • Ensure the bar is stocked and appropriately set up.

  • Check pars on juices, and garnishes; label and date.

  • Alert management of any potential 86’s to find a work around.

  • Receive and count bank.

service
  • Greet and welcome every guest promptly in a warm and friendly manner.

  • Prepare all drinks that come in through the POS or ordered from a guest

  • Use appropriate jiggers and measuring tools

  • Follow all recipes as provided by Golden Age

  • Constant communications with the barback

breakdown/ closing side work
  • Break down all wells.

  • Remove garbage and dirty dishes from behind bar.

  • Wash all remaining glassware and return its proper location.

  • Burn any remaining ice.

  • Cover bottles with plastic wrap.

  • Clean and return all bar utensils.

  • Hand in money owed to house and accurate bank.
