Job Description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Manager, SEO AEO based in the United States.
This role sits at the intersection of traditional search and the rapidly evolving world of AI-driven discovery, where visibility is no longer defined only by rankings but by citations, answers, and recommendations across generative platforms. You will lead the strategy and execution of organic discovery programs spanning SEO and AEO, ensuring the organization is discoverable across Google, AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Copilot, and other emerging answer engines. The position blends strategic leadership with hands-on execution, requiring someone who can translate complex search dynamics into clear, scalable programs. You will shape how content, technical architecture, and authority signals influence visibility in both traditional and AI-first environments. Working in a highly cross-functional setting, you will partner with content, web, product marketing, analytics, and engineering teams. This is a high-impact role focused on strengthening authority, improving discoverability, and driving measurable business outcomes through organic channels.
- Lead the end-to-end SEO and AEO strategy, defining roadmaps that connect organic discovery to business priorities, product launches, and demand generation goals.
- Manage and develop the SEO/AEO function, setting priorities, building execution frameworks, and guiding both internal team members and external agency partners.
- Oversee technical SEO initiatives including site architecture, crawlability, indexation, structured data, internal linking, page performance, and international SEO optimization.
- Build and operationalize AI search visibility strategies, including prompt tracking, citation analysis, answer engine optimization, and entity authority development.
- Define and monitor KPIs across organic performance, AI visibility, share of voice, conversions, and LLM recommendation rates, translating insights into actionable recommendations.
- Partner closely with cross-functional teams including web, content, product marketing, PR, and analytics to ensure SEO/AEO is embedded in campaigns, launches, and digital experiences.
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve discoverability, strengthen topical authority, and enhance how content is surfaced and cited across search and AI platforms.
- 7–9+ years of experience in SEO, organic growth, or digital strategy, including at least 3+ years in a people management or team leadership role.
- Strong technical SEO expertise across crawlability, indexation, structured data, site architecture, Core Web Vitals, redirects, and large-scale enterprise websites.
- Deep understanding of AEO, generative search, AI Overviews, LLM-driven discovery, and entity-based optimization strategies.
- Proven ability to design SEO strategies that directly connect to business outcomes such as pipeline, conversions, and market share, not just traffic.
- Experience working with analytics and SEO tools such as Google Search Console, GA4, Screaming Frog, Looker Studio, and enterprise SEO platforms.
- Strong cross-functional leadership skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders across marketing, product, web, and engineering teams.
- Ability to translate complex technical and AI search concepts into clear, actionable business recommendations.
- Experience supporting global or enterprise-level digital programs, including large-scale content, web, or product launch initiatives.
- Competitive total compensation package aligned with senior SEO leadership roles in the U.S. market
- Performance-based bonus and incentive opportunities
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance from day one
- Paid parental leave and family support programs
- Unlimited paid time off and paid holidays, including dedicated wellness days
- 401(k) retirement plan with company matching contributions
- Mental health support, employee assistance programs, and wellness resources
- Flexible work arrangements depending on role and team requirements
- Access to learning platforms, mentoring, and continuous professional development opportunities
- Additional benefits including financial, legal, and lifestyle support programs
