Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented accounting professional to support core financial operations and month-end close activities across a dynamic and growing airport portfolio.
This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and delivering the analyses and insights needed to support senior leadership decision-making.

In this role, you will partner closely with the Controller and cross-functional teams to strengthen accounting operations, support cash flow planning, improve processes, and help ensure timely, GAAP-compliant reporting in a fast-paced, operations-heavy environment.
Key Responsibilities- Record and reconcile cash activity, including cash receipts, disbursements, and monthly bank reconciliations.
- Prepare and maintain accurate balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring all general ledger accounts are properly supported
- Perform expense variance analysis, identify trends, and investigate significant fluctuations.
- Review coding, and post corporate credit card transactions to the general ledger.
- Review, reconcile payroll journal.
- Prepare and maintain monthly accruals, prepaid expenses, and supporting schedules.
- Oversee intercompany transactions and reconciliations, ensuring balances are accurate and resolved timely.
- Ensure taxes, insurance premiums, and other required payments are processed on time to avoid penalties and service interruptions.
- Provide backup support for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions as needed.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Partner with site managers and third-party owners to resolve accounting issues and provide financial support.
- Respond to auditor requests and prepare audit schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls.
- Monitor accounting activities to ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and reporting requirements.
- Manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum three (3) years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in operations-heavy or asset-intensive industries such as airports, transportation, infrastructure, or logistics.
- Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, subledger-to-general ledger accounting, GAAP, internal controls, and audit support requirements.
- Ability to analyze accounting transactions, identify variances, and deliver accurate financial reporting with strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency with ERP and payment systems such as Yardi and Bill.com; experience with other similar ERP systems is a plus, along with intermediate Excel reporting skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, exercise sound professional judgment, manage multiple priorities, and maintain confidentiality and accountability for financial processes
- Experience in airport operations, aviation services, regulated environments, private equity-backed companies, or high-growth organizations is a plus.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
- Must be eligible to travel domestically and internationally, including occasional overnight stays
- Must comply with applicable corporate facility and airport access requirements when visiting operational sites
- Primary work location is Northern Virginia (Dulles/Herndon), and candidates should reside within a reasonable commuting distance

Salary Range: $80,000 - $90,000 annualized
