Business Development Specialist – Illinois and Indiana

We are a wholesale electrical distributor with 16 locations across Wisconsin, Illinois, and Indiana. We are seeking a highly motivated Business Development Specialist who will be responsible for identifying sales opportunities, developing and executing business plans, and building relationships with customers and suppliers throughout the northern and central Illinois and Indiana regions.
The pay range for this position is $60,000 to $80,000 plus commission. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent on factors, including but not limited to the individual’s qualifications, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as physical work location within the state.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associates degree in Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering or related field.
- Valid driver's license and personal transportation.
- 1-2 years of experience in business development or sales.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the electrical distribution industry.
- Knowledge of electrical control systems.
- Technology savvy with knowledge of relevant software applications.
- Experience with customer relationship management systems.
- Product knowledge and experience conducting training sessions.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate customer product training.
- Educate inside and outside sales on product applications.
- Implement targeted marketing strategy.
- Develop implementation plans and assist customers with product applications.
- Qualify and track leads.
- Provide support throughout the state of Wisconsin.
- Travel to customer sites.
