As a key member of our Manufacturing team, you will manage shipments, ensure trade compliance, and collaborate with various teams to update systems and negotiate freight charges. You will also support process improvements in a fast-paced environment, supporting our customers in Asia. The work is critical and time-sensitive, requiring the use of tact, diplomacy, and practical knowledge of industry and company policies, practices, and procedures.

This is a full-time, on-site role requiring five(5) days per week in our Ottawa office, with a strong focus on in-person collaboration.

What You’ll Do:

  • Arrange transportation for outgoing/incoming shipments, coordinating pickup and delivery.
  • Prepare shipping documentation for outgoing shipments, including those with DG designation.
  • Ensure compliance with current trade agreements.
  • Work closely with Order Management to ensure we meet our customers’ logistical requirements.
  • Provided day-to-day logistical and inventory support to our internal customers.
  • Work directly with customers to develop logistical solutions that meet their specific needs.
  • Work with our Engineering team on product compliance processes.
  • Update ERP, logistics and shipping systems as required.
  • Review/Approve freight charges from our couriers.
  • Work with our logistics partners to ensure we arebeing providedwith the best pricing possible.
  • Work with the warehouse team to pick, pack and ship goods. Receiving goods into inventory and doing inventory movements is required.
  • Participate in special projects throughout the year, focusing on streamlining controls and processes, in addition to providing specialized support to other team members.
  • Who You Are:

    You’re a strategic thinker with a knack for operational excellence, ready to tackle multiple priorities with agility and grace. If you have:

      Post-secondary education in a related field.
      Over 8 years of experience in international shipping.
      In-depth knowledge of current Incoterms and international clearance issues.
      Proficiency in ERP systems, preferably JDE.
      Excellent understanding of all transport modes (courier, ocean, air, and ground).
      Preferred certifications in Logistics/Trade Compliance or Hazardous Handling/Shipping.
      Strong cross-functional collaboration and continuous improvement mindset; a team player.
      Exceptional communication, presentation, and analytical skills.

    The anticipated starting salary range for candidates in Ottawa, ON, Canada expressing interest in this position is CAD $48,000 – 57,000. Actual compensation will depend on factors such as location, technical experience, skills, certifications, etc.
