This is an exciting opportunity to join Oxford University Press's Global Technology team, where you will play a key role in supporting service performance reporting, customer experience measurement, and data-driven decision-making.
As a Data Analyst, you will work closely with Reporting & Insight Analysts, Centres of Excellence, and our strategic partner Cognizant to ensure data is accurate, reliable, and readily available for business use.
This role offers the opportunity to work with modern data analytics tools and technologies including SQL, Python, Alteryx, and reporting platforms such as Power BI or Tableau. You will contribute directly to the delivery of end-to-end service performance insights while helping improve and automate data processes across the organisation.

Opportunity – the ‘what’As a Data Analyst, you will be responsible for collecting, organising, managing, analysing, and improving data to support business decision-making and service performance reporting.
Key Responsibilities- Identify and collect relevant data from multiple sources.
- Document data collection processes, logic, and methodologies.
- Perform data quality checks, cleansing activities, validation, and data management practices to ensure data integrity.
- Develop and maintain data quality reporting tools.
- Integrate data from various systems into central repositories and databases, ensuring it is organised, categorised, and accessible.
- Analyse, interpret, and present data in clear, meaningful formats.
- Partner with Reporting & Insight Analysts to translate technical data into business-friendly insights and reporting.
- Support the production of end-to-end service performance and customer experience reporting.
- Transform unstructured and poorly structured data into usable formats.
- Identify opportunities to improve data management processes and implement best practices.
- Continuously explore new data processing tools, techniques, and automation opportunities.
- Participate in knowledge-sharing activities and contribute to team learning.
- Deliver training or knowledge-sharing sessions to colleagues.
- Help ensure new processes are not established using legacy systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop data-driven strategies and solutions.
- Maintain regular engagement with Data Governance teams and other data-focused functions across the Press.
Your work will enable the Reporting & Insight function to deliver timely, accurate, and actionable reporting. You will support service performance measurement, improve data quality and efficiency, enhance customer experience insights, and help drive continuous improvement across the organisation.

- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex data insights to non-technical audiences.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience carrying out data quality control, validation, and data linkage activities.
- Knowledge of data privacy regulations and compliance requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience demonstrating the required capability.
- Demonstrable experience working with large datasets and data analysis tools.
- Experience working with disorganised or poorly structured data.
- Experience creating highly visual dashboards and scorecards.
- Understanding of KPIs, KQIs, SLAs, and related reporting.
- Ability to build strong relationships across functions and teams.
- Experience managing stakeholders from operational through to senior leadership levels.
- Experience translating technical content into business-ready materials.
- Knowledge of Power BI and/or Tableau.
- Relevant professional qualifications.
- Experience with end-to-end service performance reporting.
