The Peet's Barista/ Baja Deli Dual-Trained is responsible for creating an exceptional guest experience by preparing and serving coffee, espresso beverages, and food items while providing prompt, friendly service to guests. This position primarily supports Peet’s Coffee while also being cross trained to assist in concessions as business needs require. Responsibilities include greeting guests, taking food and beverage orders, processing payments, preparing beverages, maintaining product quality, and keeping the work area clean, stocked, and organized. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ((The following statements are intended as general illustrations of the work in this job class and are not all inclusive for specific positions.) Guest Service
- Greet guests/ Team members warmly, take food and beverage orders accurately, and answer questions regarding menu items.
- Provide a high level of guest service by creating a welcoming, friendly, and efficient experience.
- Assist guests with beverage selections, food options, and general menu questions.
Beverage and Food Preparation
- Prepare and serve coffee, espresso drinks, teas, blended beverages, and other specialty drinks according to established recipes and standards.
- Prepare and serve Baja Deli food items, snacks, and beverages as needed.
- Ensure quality, consistency, and presentation standards are met for all food and beverage items served.
Order Processing
- Accurately input guest orders into the POS system and communicate orders clearly to team members as needed.
- Complete orders in a timely manner while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
- Package and present food and beverage items appropriately for dine-in or take-out service.
Cash Handling
- Process cash, credit card, and other transactions accurately and issue receipts to guests.
- Maintain accountability for register transactions and follow proper cash-handling procedures.
- Balance and reconcile register activity as required at the beginning and end of shifts.
Work Area Maintenance
- Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked coffee and concessions work area at all times.
- Restock cups, lids, syrups, condiments, napkins, utensils, food items, and other supplies as needed.
- Clean counters, beverage stations, equipment, display areas, and guest-facing spaces in accordance with sanitation and company standards.
Team Support / Cross-Training
- Provide support in both the Peet's and Baja Deli areas based on business demands and staffing needs.
- Work collaboratively with other food and beverage team members to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
- Follow all company, departmental, food safety, and sanitation policies and procedures.

WORKING CONDITIONS / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Environment: Indoor food and beverage outlet within a casino environment, with frequent guest interaction and exposure to beverage and food preparation areas.
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand for extended periods, walk frequently, bend, reach, and lift/move items as needed in a fast-paced environment.
- Hours: Must be flexible to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to support business operations.
- Mental Demands: Ability to work calmly and efficiently during busy periods while maintaining service standards, accuracy, and professionalism.
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Previous barista, concessions, cashier, food service, or guest service experience is preferred, but not required.
- Basic math skills and cash-handling ability required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain any required food handler permits, alcohol awareness cards, or other required certifications.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude and strong attention to detail.
- Must be 18 years or older
