Position Summary: The Director of School Operations School Policy, Safety, and SystemsAlignment provides district-level leadership for operational strategy, safety systems, policyalignment, and business continuity practices across Tulsa Public Schools.This role leads the design, coordination, and continuous improvement of operationalframeworks that support safe, compliant, and high-functioning school environments. TheDirector ensures alignment across safety initiatives, operational policies, accreditationstandards, attendance systems, scheduling structures, and related compliance functions.The Director collaborates closely with district leadership, school leaders, and operational teamsto strengthen systems that support safe schools, operational continuity, and effectiveimplementation of district policies and procedures.
Key Functions:
Lead the design and coordination of districtwide operational frameworks supportingsafety, compliance, and effective school environments
Oversee safety and prevention initiatives aligned with district standards and regulatoryrequirements
Manage operational vendor contracts and budgets to ensure effective service deliveryand fiscal accountability
Establish and monitor key performance indicators for operational effectiveness andsystem performance
Advise district leadership on operational risk, compliance considerations, and systemperformance
Collaborate with school leaders and district departments to ensure consistentimplementation of operational systems
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelors degree required
Masters degree preferred
Experience:
Seven (7) to ten (10) years of progressive leadership experience in school operations,district operations, or large-scale program management
Experience leading complex, multi-site operational initiatives
Experience managing vendor relationships and operational budgets preferred
Experience supporting operational systems in large organizations or school districtspreferred
Licenses and Certifications:
Valid Oklahoma drivers license required
Knowledge and Skills:
Strong strategic systems thinking and operational planning skills
Ability to manage complex, high-risk operational initiatives
Strong financial management and vendor oversight capability
Effective cross-functional leadership and stakeholder collaboration
Ability to translate policy and regulatory requirements into workable operational systems
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills in complex operational environments
Ability to manage multiple initiatives and priorities simultaneously
Strong communication and relationship-building skills with district leaders, schoolleaders, and operational staff
