We’re looking for a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable/Receivable Clerk to join our dealership team. The Automotive Accounts Payable/Receivable Clerk is responsible for processing and reconciling all accounts payable transactions, ensuring timely and accurate payments to vendors and internal departments. The ideal candidate has previous accounting experience (automotive industry preferred), strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process vendor invoices for payment in a timely and accurate manner
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
- Ensure all invoices are properly coded and authorized
- Maintain organized records of all AP transactions and documentation
- Assist with monthly closing tasks and reports
- Coordinate with parts, service, and office departments to track purchases and expenses
- Issue checks and prepare electronic payments
- Respond to vendor inquiries and maintain positive relationships
- Responsible for after-market product remittances and cancellations
- Support other accounting tasks as needed
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or accounting coursework preferred
- 1–3 years of accounts payable or general accounting experience (automotive dealership experience is a plus)
- Familiarity with dealership management systems (CDK preferred)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other basic accounting software
