We are currently hiring a Drafter/Designer for our Mechanical Engineering Department in Meridian, Idaho. This position will support the design and drafting of building mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and related engineered systems for a variety of commercial, industrial, educational, healthcare, and other facility projects.
The ideal candidate will have a background in drafting and design through technical education and/or practical experience. Proficiency with AutoCAD is required, and experience with Revit and BIM-based design workflows is strongly preferred.
This position offers opportunities to grow from drafting support into increasingly complex design responsibilities under the guidance of experienced engineers and designers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and revise mechanical engineering drawings using AutoCAD and Revit.
- Support the design of HVAC, plumbing, and related building systems.
- Assist engineers and designers with project drafting, modeling, and documentation.
- Participate in BIM coordination and multidisciplinary project collaboration.
- Maintain accurate project drawings and design records.
- Grow technical knowledge and design skills through training and mentorship.
- Education or experience in engineering drafting and design
- Proficiency with AutoCAD (required)
- Experience with Revit/BIM workflows (preferred)
- Interest in building mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, and related engineered systems
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented approach
- Self-motivated with a commitment to continuous learning and professional development
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to project teams
- Ability to support project goals and milestones established by project leadership
- Ability to learn and apply mechanical design criteria, engineering standards, and applicable building codes
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality deliverables
