Job Description
Job Summary:
The motivated and safety-focused Hydrovac Operator is responsible for operating vacuum trucks and related equipment to perform industrial cleaning, hydro excavation, waste removal, and environmental services at customer sites. This role requires adherence to safety regulations, proper equipment handling, and strong communication skills.

Requirements:Essential Functions Statement(s)
- Safely operate Hydrovac trucks and related vacuum excavation equipment
- Perform utility locating support, daylighting, potholing, trenching, and excavation activities
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle and equipment inspections
- Complete required paperwork, safety documentation, and job reports accurately
- Maintain equipment, tools, and vehicles in clean and professional condition
- Follow all company, customer, DOT, OSHA, and site-specific safety requirements
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, customers, and crew members
- Represent Chain Electric professionally on all job sites
Qualifications:
- Valid Class A or Class B CDL required (tanker endorsement preferred)
- Previous Hydrovac, Vacuum Truck, or Hydro Excavation experience preferred.
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, evenings, and participate in on-call rotations as needed
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Ability to travel for projects when required
- Knowledge of DOT and OSHA safety regulations.
- Strong work ethics and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Ability to lift up to 80 lbs. and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Must pass drug screening, background check, and fit-for-duty requirements.
Education : High School graduate or GED preferred.
Preferred Skills:
- Hydro excavation experience.
- Industrial cleaning or environmental services background.
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Confined space or HAZWOPER certification is a plus.
Certificates & Licenses:
- Possess and maintain a valid Commercial Driver’s License - Class A
- Pass and maintain DOT Medical Certification
