Sr. Director, Field Technical Service

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sr. Director, Field Technical Service based in the United States.

This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced service executive to lead a large-scale, geographically dispersed field organization supporting advanced diagnostic technologies across North America. The role combines strategic leadership, operational excellence, and customer engagement to drive service performance, business growth, and long-term customer satisfaction. Working closely with commercial, finance, and operational leaders, you will shape service strategies, optimize profitability, and strengthen relationships with key healthcare customers. This position offers significant visibility, executive-level influence, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in an innovative and mission-driven environment focused on improving healthcare outcomes.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead and oversee a nationwide field technical service organization, including service operations, dispatch, and coordination teams across multiple regions.
  • Define and execute strategic objectives that align customer needs with commercial priorities and long-term business goals.
  • Own the service business P&L, ensuring profitability, efficient resource allocation, and sustainable revenue growth.
  • Develop and implement customer support strategies that enhance retention, service quality, and business expansion opportunities.
  • Build and maintain executive relationships with key customer accounts while leading strategic business reviews and service discussions.
  • Partner cross-functionally with sales, finance, and operations teams to improve service delivery and customer experience.
  • Direct the coordination center responsible for issue resolution, escalation management, and efficient service execution.
  • Contribute to corporate strategic planning initiatives and continuously improve service processes, operational performance, and organizational capabilities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Biomedical Sciences, or a related field with 20+ years of experience, or a Master's/Doctoral degree with 18+ years of relevant experience.
  • Extensive experience leading complex, large-scale field service organizations and managing multi-level leadership teams.
  • Strong expertise in customer support operations, service contracting, field service management, and commercial service strategies.
  • Solid understanding of the medical diagnostics, life sciences, or healthcare technology industries.
  • Proven track record in P&L ownership, operational leadership, and driving revenue growth across large service organizations.
  • Exceptional executive communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging senior customer leaders.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead transformation initiatives, improve operational efficiency, and build high-performing teams.
  • Previous experience in medical laboratories or diagnostic environments is considered a strong advantage.
