Policy Analyst

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Policy Analyst based in United States.

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Policy Analyst to support complex policy, compliance, and case management initiatives within a higher education environment.
This role plays a critical part in interpreting regulations, improving procedures, and ensuring fair and effective conduct processes.
You will analyze policies, manage sensitive cases, and provide recommendations that support institutional integrity and accountability.
The position requires strong judgment, discretion, and the ability to navigate complex regulatory and organizational challenges.
You will collaborate with administrators, legal partners, faculty, students, and community stakeholders to strengthen policy implementation.

Accountabilities:

The Policy Analyst will oversee policy analysis, case management, compliance monitoring, and operational improvements related to student conduct and academic integrity matters. Working closely with leadership, this role will evaluate regulations, maintain confidential records, develop procedures, and provide analytical support for high-impact initiatives.

  • Serve as the primary case manager for complex conduct matters, including sensitive appeals and review processes related to academic integrity, student conduct, and harassment-related cases.
  • Monitor, interpret, and analyze regulatory requirements, including Title IX, the Jeanne Clery Act, Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), Drug-Free Schools Act, and evolving state and federal legislation.
  • Evaluate existing policies and procedures, recommend improvements, and support the development of new operational processes.
  • Maintain confidential case files, databases, websites, and supporting documentation while ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Provide analytical support through records management, data interpretation, reporting, and policy assessments.
  • Develop and manage short- and long-term projects that improve operational effectiveness and institutional processes.
  • Prepare analytical reports, procedural documentation, recommendations, and executive-level communications.
  • Support the implementation of metrics, assessments, and statistical reporting to measure program effectiveness.
  • Supervise and provide guidance to administrative support staff, ensuring effective execution of assigned responsibilities.
  • Collaborate with campus leadership, legal advisors, faculty, students, external partners, and other stakeholders on complex policy matters.
  • Apply trauma-informed approaches and maintain professionalism when handling sensitive and confidential situations.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate brings advanced knowledge of higher education policies, student conduct processes, compliance frameworks, and analytical methodologies. This role requires strong communication skills, sound judgment, project management capabilities, and the ability to manage highly sensitive information with discretion.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5–7 years of relevant professional experience with policy analysis, student affairs, compliance, conduct processes, or related areas.
  • Advanced understanding of legal and regulatory issues in higher education, including Title IX, Clery Act requirements, student rights, due process, and accessibility considerations.
  • Experience managing complex, sensitive, and high-profile student conduct cases or investigations.
  • Knowledge of student conduct policies, procedures, adjudication processes, and policy development practices.
  • Experience supporting trauma-informed practices and handling cases involving harassment, discrimination, or violence.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to evaluate data, identify issues, and recommend solutions.
  • Strong project management skills with experience managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Experience using case management systems and organizational databases, preferably Advocate or similar platforms.
  • Ability to create clear analytical reports, procedures, presentations, and professional communications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate with senior leaders, legal teams, faculty, students, and external stakeholders.
  • Strong discretion and ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Preferred experience managing website content and digital resources.
  • Master’s degree in Student Affairs, Higher Education, or a related discipline is preferred.
