The Sr. AWS Solutions Architect will lead the design, deployment, and optimization of cloud environments while providing technical expertise across infrastructure, security, automation, and container platforms. The role requires strong collaboration skills, the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions, and a commitment to delivering secure, scalable architectures.
- Design and deploy AWS hosting environments using services such as Amazon EKS, ECS, Fargate, ECR, and AWS App Mesh while meeting customer technical and security requirements.
- Support cloud migration, modernization, and implementation initiatives by providing architectural guidance and recommending best practices.
- Develop and troubleshoot containerized application environments, including Kubernetes-based deployments and enterprise-grade container solutions.
- Create, modify, and interpret configuration scripts to automate deployments, configure systems, manage logging, and support customer environments.
- Apply advanced troubleshooting techniques to resolve complex infrastructure, application, networking, and cloud platform issues.
- Support security architecture initiatives, including infrastructure hardening, vulnerability assessments, remediation activities, and compliance requirements.
- Develop technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and supporting materials for regulated environments and authorization processes.
- Research and implement emerging cloud technologies to improve scalability, security, and operational efficiency.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to engineering teams by sharing expertise and promoting continuous learning.
The ideal candidate brings deep AWS architecture experience, strong expertise in container technologies, and a proven ability to deliver secure cloud solutions. This position requires hands-on engineering capabilities, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven experience designing and implementing AWS-based solutions with expertise in Kubernetes, Amazon EKS, ECS, Docker, and containerized architectures.
- Strong understanding of container security concepts, including vulnerability scanning, image security, network segmentation, and integration with security tools such as Sysdig Falco, Calico, or Service Mesh technologies.
- Experience managing full application stacks from operating systems through application layers.
- Strong knowledge of AWS cloud services, cloud computing concepts, and infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation.
- Experience with Linux environments (Ubuntu, CentOS, Red Hat) and/or Microsoft Windows Server technologies.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, SSL/TLS, VPNs, and secure communications.
- Experience with CI/CD, DevOps, and configuration management tools such as Jenkins, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or similar technologies.
- Programming or scripting experience with languages such as Bash, PowerShell, Python, Ruby, or Node.js.
- Experience with version control platforms including Git, SVN, Perforce, or similar tools.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues across multiple layers of infrastructure and applications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a customer-focused approach.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field is preferred.
- Experience with cloud architecture and enterprise infrastructure environments is preferred.
- Active Secret Clearance is required.
- Competitive salary range of approximately $175,000 - $200,000 annually, depending on experience, qualifications, certifications, and other factors.
