Job Description

Business Operations Manager

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Business Operations Manager based in United States.

This is a high-ownership opportunity focused on building and operating the systems that power customer communications and AI-enabled business operations. You’ll own a broad technology and operations domain spanning lifecycle messaging, email management, telephony, automation, and production AI agents. The role combines hands-on systems work with analytical problem-solving and continuous process improvement. You’ll build tools that help customers stay informed while reducing manual work across operational and go-to-market teams. Success will require strong technical judgment, comfort with ambiguity, and the ability to turn complex workflows into reliable production systems. This is an ideal environment for someone who enjoys finding root causes, shipping practical solutions, and taking full ownership of the outcomes.

Accountabilities
  • Own the communications technology stack end to end, including Customer.io for segmentation, Liquid templating, lifecycle and transactional campaigns, and the supporting data pipeline.
  • Manage Front for email routing, triage, automation, and converting high-volume inbound communications into actionable operational insights.
  • Administer Dialpad and develop meaningful insights from telephony and conversation data to improve customer communications.
  • Build, operate, and expand production AI systems, including AI email agents, AI-powered help center chat, and new agent workflows across operations and go-to-market teams.
  • Establish quality standards for customer-facing communications, including AI evaluation methods, guardrails, staged releases, monitoring, and production-readiness criteria.
  • Work independently across Salesforce, including objects, flows, reports, and business-impacting automations.
  • Use SQL against production data warehouses to analyze performance, target communications, and measure the effectiveness of initiatives.
  • Build and maintain workflows using n8n and integrate Salesforce, communications platforms, LLM APIs, and other operational systems.
  • Work with APIs, webhooks, data synchronization processes, and unfamiliar systems to create reliable connections across the operations technology stack.
  • Identify operational problems proactively, investigate root causes, and implement scalable solutions rather than relying on manual workarounds or ticket-based processes.
  • Own the processes and outcomes associated with the systems under your domain, while partnering effectively with other teams to drive adoption and organizational change.
Requirements
  • 3–6 years of experience in marketing operations, revenue operations, business operations, or another systems-focused role, with demonstrated ability to deliver meaningful operational improvements.
  • Hands-on experience building and deploying AI-powered workflows or agents in production, including familiarity with prompt regressions, evaluation, failure modes, guardrails, and reliability considerations.
  • Strong expertise in at least one customer communications platform such as Customer.io, Braze, Iterable, or a comparable solution, including templating and data integration capabilities.
  • Working proficiency with SQL and demonstrated experience administering Salesforce or a comparable CRM at the object, workflow, and automation level.
  • Strong communication judgment and attention to detail, particularly when managing written or spoken communications delivered directly to customers.
  • An ownership-oriented mindset, with a willingness to debug problems directly, investigate root causes, and take responsibility for systems within your area.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, fast-changing environments.
  • Experience with n8n, Zapier, or similar workflow automation platforms is a plus.
  • Insurance or fintech operations experience is advantageous.
  • Experience as the sole or founding owner of a system or operational technology domain is a plus.
  • Experience designing and implementing system integrations is preferred.
  • Previous experience in Sales Operations, Marketing Operations, or Revenue Operations is beneficial.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.
Benefits
  • Base salary of $115,000–$140,000, depending on experience, skills, qualifications, and other relevant factors.
  • Competitive total rewards package including equity.
  • Insurance coverage with select plans available at no cost to employees.
  • 401(k) with an annual company match.
  • 20 days of paid time off, increasing to 25 days after two years.
  • Generous paid parental leave.
  • $500 annual home office stipend.
  • $75 monthly internet stipend.
  • Professional development opportunities.
  • Remote-first working environment with investment in in-person collaboration.
  • Opportunity to join an early-stage insurance technology company with significant opportunities for professional growth.
