2nd Shift Parts & Plates Foreman
Location: York, PA
Job Type: Direct Hire
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM–12:00 AM
Starting rate: $32.00 per hour, with higher pay available based on experience, plus a $3.00/hour shift differential for second shift.
We are hiring a Parts & Plates Foreman to oversee second-shift shop production and provide leadership to fabrication personnel. This role is responsible for coordinating employees, materials, equipment, production schedules, deliveries, and quality requirements to support efficient shop operations.
The Foreman will work closely with internal teams, vendors, and other facilities to maintain production flow, address operational needs, and help ensure work is completed accurately and on time.
What Youll Handle- Provide direction, support, and day-to-day leadership to shop employees.
- Ensure company policies and established procedures are followed.
- Oversee personnel, tools, equipment, materials, and other resources used throughout the fabrication shop.
- Keep production schedules and fabrication schedules current.
- Organize and coordinate deliveries based on project requirements.
- Establish and communicate standard fabrication procedures.
- Monitor quality control practices and ensure products meet required standards.
- Evaluate shop processes and recommend changes that improve productivity, employee effectiveness, efficiency, and quality.
- Communicate with other departments to coordinate project schedules and production requirements.
- Ensure equipment and facility needs are identified and addressed as applicable.
- Provide updates regarding product status, quality, and delivery to other departments and facilities.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with vendors and suppliers.
- Exercise sound judgment when making decisions that affect shop operations and company objectives.
- Balance workloads throughout the shop and communicate operational needs to the Regional Fabrication Operations Manager.
- Monitor inventory requirements in coordination with the First Shift Foreman, Regional Fabrication Operations Manager, and Purchasing.
- Determine work hours when necessary to meet production and delivery schedules.
- Managerial or supervisory experience required.
- Detailed knowledge of the industry and fabrication shop operations.
- Experience with parts, plates, metal fabrication, or related manufacturing operations.
- Excellent spoken and written English.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must be available to work 2nd shift, including overtime and Saturdays as needed.
