Job Description

Location: Torrance, CA
Employment Type: Direct Hire - Hourly
Salary: $95,000 - $135,000/ per year DOE

We are seeking a Site Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to support the development, implementation, and maintenance of workplace environmental, health, and safety programs.

This role will help ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies while working closely with management and employees to promote a strong safety culture, reduce risk, and maintain a safe and environmentally responsible workplace.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct routine workplace safety inspections, audits, and hazard assessments.
  • Identify unsafe conditions or behaviors and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support incident, injury, and near-miss investigations and track corrective actions.
  • Assist with environmental compliance activities, including waste management, spill prevention, and chemical storage.
  • Support pollution prevention and sustainability initiatives.
  • Maintain EHS policies, procedures, permits, Safety Data Sheets (SDSs), and records.
  • Track EHS performance metrics and prepare reports for management.
  • Serve as a point of contact for EHS-related questions.
  • Participate in safety committees and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support regulatory inspections and internal audits.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 1–3 years of experience in EHS, safety coordination, or a related role preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with front-line employees and leadership.
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate safety data, identify trends, and implement data-driven improvements.
  • Ability to evaluate hazardous conditions and develop practical safety solutions.
  • Proven ability to influence safety behaviors and lead change in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with EHS management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
