Job DescriptionPosition Summary

Resicum International LLC is seeking an experienced Aircraft Mechanic III – Avionics to support C/KC-130T Hercules aircraft maintenance operations at NAS Jacksonville, Florida, with the capability to rapidly deploy to operational Government locations worldwide.

This position is contingent upon contract award.

The Aircraft Mechanic III – Avionics serves as a senior avionics technician and aircraft maintenance team leader responsible for performing, supervising, inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, modifying, and functionally testing complex aircraft electrical, electronic, communication, navigation, instrumentation, and associated systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead teams performing C/KC-130T avionics and electrical maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and modifications.
  • Perform, supervise, and inspect maintenance accomplished by Aircraft Mechanic I and II personnel.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, modify, install, remove, and test aircraft avionics and electrical components and systems.
  • Perform maintenance and troubleshooting of C-130/KC-130 electrical power generation, distribution, and control systems.
  • Troubleshoot aircraft wiring, electrical circuits, connectors, terminals, relays, switches, circuit protection devices, and associated components.
  • Diagnose complex electrical and electronic malfunctions using systematic fault-isolation procedures.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot aircraft communication, navigation, instrumentation, flight indication, warning, lighting, and associated electronic systems.
  • Troubleshoot avionics interfaces with aircraft systems and identify whether discrepancies originate from electrical, wiring, component, power supply, or system-interface faults.
  • Perform continuity checks, insulation/resistance checks, voltage measurements, operational checks, and functional testing.
  • Utilize aircraft-specific electronic test equipment, meters, test sets, diagnostic equipment, and specialized maintenance tools.
  • Read and interpret C-130/KC-130 technical orders, wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, system diagrams, engineering documentation, drawings, and maintenance instructions.
  • Trace and isolate aircraft wiring discrepancies, including opens, shorts, grounds, intermittent faults, improper connections, and connector deficiencies.
  • Perform aircraft wiring repairs, connector repairs, component replacement, wire routing, termination, and related electrical maintenance in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Identify damaged, deteriorated, corroded, or improperly installed electrical and avionics components and recommend appropriate corrective action.
  • Support troubleshooting of aircraft lighting, cockpit indications, warning systems, communication systems, navigation systems, and other aircraft electronic systems.
  • Perform and supervise post-maintenance operational and functional checks.
  • Support aircraft modifications, system upgrades, Maintenance Engineering Changes (MEC), Technical Directives, and engineering investigations, as applicable.
  • Provide technical expertise and troubleshooting assistance to structural, mechanical, powerplant, and other maintenance personnel when electrical or avionics interfaces are involved.
  • Inspect completed avionics maintenance to ensure workmanship and technical requirements are met.
  • Provide technical guidance, training, and mentorship to lower-level avionics and aircraft maintenance technicians.
  • Coordinate avionics maintenance activities with Quality Assurance, Maintenance Control, Production Control, Engineering, Supply, and Government representatives.
  • Make required entries in aircraft logbooks, maintenance forms, records, and other approved maintenance documentation.
  • Support aircraft inspections, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, aircraft recovery, modification programs, and return-to-service activities.
  • Identify recurring electrical/avionics discrepancies, parts requirements, technical problems, and maintenance delays and communicate them to maintenance leadership.
  • Prioritize assigned workloads to support aircraft availability, mission requirements, and aircraft delivery schedules.
  • Maintain accountability and proper use of Government-furnished tools, equipment, test equipment, and support equipment.
  • Comply with applicable aircraft maintenance, FOD, safety, tool control, hazardous material, and environmental requirements.
  • Support rapid-response Contract Field Team (CFT) operations and deployment to Government locations worldwide.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of the C/KC-130T aircraft maintenance mission.
Requirements: Required Qualifications
  • 7+ years of aircraft maintenance experience, with significant experience in aircraft avionics/electrical maintenance.
  • Recent or substantial C-130/KC-130 series aircraft maintenance experience is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience troubleshooting and maintaining military aircraft electrical and electronic systems.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of aircraft electrical systems, including:
    • Electrical power generation and distribution
    • Aircraft wiring and cabling
    • Circuit protection
    • Relays, switches, connectors, and terminals
    • Aircraft lighting
    • Instrumentation and indications
    • Communication systems
    • Navigation systems
    • Warning and annunciator systems
    • Electrical interfaces with aircraft mechanical, hydraulic, fuel, engine, and propeller systems
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex aircraft electrical and avionics discrepancies using technical orders, wiring diagrams, schematics, system diagrams, and fault-isolation procedures.
  • Experience performing aircraft wiring troubleshooting, continuity checks, voltage/resistance measurements, connector repairs, component replacement, and functional testing.
  • Experience using aircraft-specific avionics/electrical test equipment and diagnostic tools.
  • Thorough knowledge of aircraft technical publications and the ability to accurately interpret maintenance instructions and engineering documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform, supervise, and inspect work accomplished by lower-level aircraft maintenance personnel.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead maintenance teams through complex aircraft avionics and electrical troubleshooting tasks.
  • Experience completing aircraft maintenance documentation and making appropriate entries in aircraft logs and records.
  • Ability to coordinate with engineering, Quality Assurance, Maintenance Control, Production Control, Supply, and Government personnel.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple maintenance requirements while maintaining aircraft production and delivery schedules.
  • Strong knowledge of aircraft maintenance safety, FOD prevention, tool control, and hazardous material requirements.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain the security clearance required by the contract.
  • Must possess a valid U.S. passport.
  • Must be willing and able to rapidly deploy worldwide, potentially on short notice.
  • Must be able to obtain required visas, immunizations, security/country clearances, and other deployment documentation required by individual task orders.
  • Must meet all applicable Government and task-order-specific requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • C-130T or KC-130T avionics maintenance experience.
  • Prior U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, or other military C-130/KC-130 avionics experience.
  • Experience troubleshooting C-130/KC-130 electrical power and distribution systems.
  • Experience with C-130/KC-130 communication, navigation, instrumentation, and aircraft indication systems.
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical interfaces associated with T56 engines and propeller systems.
  • Previous experience as an Avionics Technician, Avionics Mechanic, Collateral Duty Inspector (CDI), Quality Assurance representative, Crew Chief, Senior Avionics Technician, or Production Supervisor.
  • Experience supporting Contract Field Teams, expeditionary aviation maintenance, OCONUS operations, or depot-level maintenance.
  • Experience supporting aircraft modifications, Technical Directives, MECs, ECODs, or engineering investigations.
  • Experience leading multi-discipline aircraft maintenance teams.
Physical & Deployment Requirements
  • Ability to work on and around aircraft, flight lines, maintenance stands, electrical systems, and aircraft avionics equipment.
  • Ability to work outdoors and in flight-line/industrial environments.
  • Ability to work extended hours, shifts, weekends, and holidays as required by mission requirements.
  • Ability to climb, bend, kneel, stoop, reach, and work in confined or awkward aircraft maintenance areas.
  • Ability to deploy internationally for extended periods.
  • Ability to meet all Government and host-country medical, security, passport, visa, and deployment requirements.
