This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Snowflake Data Engineer based in India.

This is an opportunity for an experienced data engineer to help modernize enterprise data platforms through cloud-based data warehousing and migration initiatives.
You will design and maintain scalable solutions using Snowflake while building reliable ETL/ELT pipelines across multiple source systems.
A key focus of the role will be supporting Oracle-to-Snowflake migrations, from data assessment and transformation through validation and reconciliation.
You will work closely with architects, analysts, application teams, and business stakeholders to translate data needs into robust technical solutions.
The role combines hands-on engineering, performance optimization, data quality, and troubleshooting in a collaborative environment.
You will also contribute to data governance, security, documentation, and the modernization of legacy data infrastructure.
This is a remote, full-time opportunity for a technically strong professional who enjoys solving complex data challenges and improving enterprise data capabilities.

Accountabilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data warehouse solutions using Snowflake, ensuring performance, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Build and optimize robust ETL/ELT pipelines for ingesting, transforming, and loading data from diverse source systems.
  • Lead and execute Oracle-to-Snowflake migration activities, including data assessment, mapping, transformation, validation, and reconciliation.
  • Analyze Oracle databases, stored procedures, existing ETL workflows, and data models to determine effective migration strategies.
  • Design Snowflake schemas, tables, views, data models, and other structures aligned with business and analytical requirements.
  • Develop complex SQL queries and transformations while optimizing workloads through appropriate warehouse sizing, query optimization, clustering, partitioning, and resource management.
  • Ensure data pipelines deliver accurate, reliable, high-quality data to downstream analytics and reporting systems.
  • Perform data validation and reconciliation between Oracle and Snowflake during migration and post-migration activities.
  • Troubleshoot pipeline failures, performance issues, data inconsistencies, and other operational challenges.
  • Collaborate with data architects, analysts, application teams, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver effective data solutions.
  • Establish and follow best practices for data security, governance, documentation, monitoring, and operational reliability.
  • Contribute to the modernization of legacy data platforms and the transition toward cloud-based data engineering practices.
Requirements
  • 5–8 years of professional experience in data engineering, data warehousing, or a closely related field.
  • Strong hands-on expertise with Snowflake Data Warehousing and modern cloud data platforms.
  • Proven experience developing and maintaining ETL/ELT processes and data pipelines.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering Oracle-to-Snowflake migration projects, including assessment, transformation, validation, and reconciliation.
  • Advanced SQL skills, including complex queries, joins, transformations, and performance optimization.
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing principles, dimensional modeling, fact and dimension tables, and data integration patterns.
  • Experience with data migration, reconciliation, validation, troubleshooting, and quality assurance.
  • Good understanding of cloud-based data engineering architectures and modern development practices.
  • Experience with tools such as Informatica, Talend, Matillion, or similar ETL platforms is a plus.
  • Exposure to Python for data engineering, scripting, or automation is desirable.
  • Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP data services is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Snowflake capabilities such as Streams, Tasks, Snowpipe, Dynamic Tables, and Time Travel is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, DevOps practices, and Agile development environments is beneficial.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaborate effectively across teams.
Benefits
  • Fully remote work arrangement within India.
  • Full-time employment opportunity.
  • Opportunity to work on large-scale Snowflake data warehousing and Oracle-to-cloud migration initiatives.
  • Exposure to modern cloud data engineering technologies and enterprise data modernization projects.
  • Collaborative environment involving data architects, analysts, application teams, and business stakeholders.
  • Opportunity to contribute to scalable, reliable, and high-impact data platforms.
  • Professional growth through hands-on experience with Snowflake, cloud technologies, ETL/ELT, and modern data engineering practices.
