Financial Accountant

As our Financial Accountant, you'll be at the technical heart of our finance function from consolidations and reconciliations through to audit, technical accounting and acquisition activity as our business continues to grow.
This is a role with genuine ownership. You'll work from our National Office alongside a supportive finance team, with the flexibility to work from home two days per week.

What You'll Be Doing
- Preparing month-end close activities, workpapers, journals, accruals and prepayments and providing commentary on key movements and variances
- Reconciling bank, general ledger and intercompany accounts, and resolving discrepancies end to end
- Consolidating financial statements across multiple entities, including intercompany eliminations
- Preparing technical accounting papers and maintaining compliance with accounting standards and internal controls
- Coordinating external audit requirements, including schedules, working papers and auditor queries
- Supporting acquisition accounting for future transactions, including entries and supporting documentation
- Identifying and leading process improvements that reduce manual work and improve reporting
What You'll Bring
- Degree qualified and CPA/CA (or equivalent)
- Strong understanding of Australian accounting principles and financial reporting requirements
- Experience across month-end, reconciliations and multi-entity consolidations
- Exposure to complex or non-routine transactions such asacquisitions, group restructures, lease accounting under AASB 16, or impairment assessment
- External audit experience (advantageous)
- Advanced Excel skills and proficiency across accounting software
- Excellent analytical, organisational and communication skills
