Position Summary

The Human Resources Representative plays a pivotal role in driving the culture and daily operations at CDI. Acting as the primary point of contact for employee relations, this role manages the full employee lifecycle for plant staff including full-cycle recruitment, benefits administration, compliance tracking, and performance management. Beyond traditional HR and HRIS duties, this individual serves as a champion of CDI’s core values, organizing plant events, and overseeing general office administration.

  • The point person for employee relations, advise managers and supervisors on employment issues, recommend employee relation practices necessary to establish a positive relationship and promote a high level of employee morale and motivation while encouraging and driving CDI culture.
  • Performs benefit administration to include enrollments, terminations, claim resolution, change reporting, reviewing invoices for accuracy and communicating benefit information to employees.
  • Process unemployment claims, medical support orders, employee verification requests worker’s compensation claims, short term disability and FMLA. Assisting with tracking and compiling data for Government Compliance.
  • Utilize HRIS modules and keep records current and up to date. Assist plant leaders in utilizing HRIS for required information such as journals, attendance, leave, etc.
  • Administers annual review/accountability processes. Assist with employee development/training/growth.
  • Be the expert on compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefit laws and regulations.
  • Provide excellent customer service to all employees and guests.
  • Facilitate employee engagement. Oversee planning of seasonal events as well as manage FUN! committees at all CDI facilities.
  • Conduct employee surveys to measure job satisfaction, feedback on schedules, relations with supervisors, coworkers, advancement opportunities etc.
  • Owns the recruitment and life cycle of the employee process for plant positions that only report to the plant leadership.
  • Understand compensation structure for plant.
  • Participates in departmental meetings and attends other meetings, seminars or round tables.
  • Performs project work and other duties assigned.
  • Ensure overall cleanliness and organization of plant is meeting expectations
  • Keep office & kitchen supplies stocked
  • Schedule, plan, execute all plant events
  • Assist with customer service answering phones and direct calls
Requirements:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  2. Proven experience in HR or people operations roles, with a focus on compensation, benefits, compliance, and worker's compensation.
  3. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  5. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity.
  6. People first belief - Clear understanding and support of Servant Leadership Structure.

Preferred:

  1. In-depth knowledge of compensation practices, benefits administration, employment laws, and worker's, compensation regulations.
  2. Proficiency in HRIS software (Paylocity) and Google Docs, Sheets, Gmail.
  3. Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Compensation Professional, Certified Benefits Professional) are a plus.
